How does my char have 85 virus coherence?

I'm looking through Evemon. I am using a Data Analyzer I or Relic Analyzer I, so my Virus Coherence starts at 40. Both my Archaeology and Hacking skills are at IV, so that should put coherency at 80 in either case.

When playing the mini-games, my coherency is at 85. Where does the extra 5 come from? (I'm flying a Heron, but I do not see any ship stat that says it affects coherency.)

I do not have any exploration-type implants, and my fitted rigs / modules are all just to increase scan strength or reduce deviation. I can't find anything fitted to my ship that would account for the extra +5.

Any ideas?

Just gonna take a stab at it and say that you start off with a base of 5 virus coherence without skills, mods, or bonuses.

Not sure that is the real answer, but it sounds nice.

Heron has a +5 virus strength bonus

Right, and that explains why I have strength 25. (20 base for the analyzer, + 5 from the Heron.)

But the extra 5 I was talking about is in my coherence, not strength. :)

Strength is how much damage your virus does in a single shot. Coherence is Virus hit points. Different things.

So the only thing i can find that would add a +5 to your virus coherence is one of the "Prospector" implants or the "Enviromental Analysis" implant. Other than one of those three, I really couldn't tell ya where it comes from.

Would also guess you have base 5 coherence otherwise if you somehow hacked with civ module and 0 skills you would lose instantly as soon as you opened it up :p

right, because that would have been too easy, I was going to suggest the implants but it looked like the answer was right there. I haven't don't hacking since before the minigame Sad

EFT seems to agree on the 80 coherence thing at lv4, so the implants seem like the right thing.

But I have no implants. :) (Well, 5 learning implants that are _just_ attribute enhancers, and 5 missile implants. No sets.)

I'm going to unfit modules one-by-one, then maybe even go as far as to hop into an empty jump clone. Rule out each thing one by one.

Well now that just makes too much sense.
