Hey Eve Community. I still still consider myself as a noob. My question is noob and I lack knowledge on this subject, hence this thread.

What kind of career can I create from dealing with intelligence? Is it sold? Is it risky, or hard to sell? How do you experienced players deal with intel when making plans to eliminate a corps or alliances assets?

I have in particular an interest with scouting, exploring, and wonder if there is any career in this area?

Frankly, running missions, mining, or doing pi, does not make enough isk for me to be self sufficient, even with alts. When the plex price goes upp to 450 mil+. I am seeking a career that will allow me to be more flexible and more self sufficient.

Thanks for your opinions and advice.

No idea what the price for intelligence is, but I remember doing a bit of scouting and leading someone into a trap set by other corp members. Good for maybe a 10 mil ISK kill? I'd assume you could get a few mil at least for figuring out the supply lines or attack routes of some other corps.

One thing I remember was being trapped in a single system by two fleets. One would hit our station and the other would wait around at different stargates. I think a spy among us told them which stargate we were likely to retreat to. Another thing that helped was someone told us that new enemy ships were on the way from a system 5-6 jumps away from our station. We got prepared and met them at the stargate ;-) we also called for reinforcements...if we had waited till the enemy arrived at our station, we would have had to wait much much longer for those needed reinforcements...

For exploration on a PVE side of things, totally. Get a ship cruiser with a probe launcher and head out to some lonely .5 system somewhere and you'll find all kinds of neat stuff to do. If you ever wana know how far that rabitt hole goes, look at officer meta gear (like, hit large armor repair and then hit variations. pick any of them that have a named person and then 'find in contracts')

For PVP type thing, which I think is what your after... sorta...

If your thinking like spy stuff, well, there's a fairly long way to go to get into it. Gotta know the right people, all that kinda stuff. I bet it CAN make alot of money, but its not something you just DO... you really gotta get trust with alot of key people, which is not an easy task.

Exploration is awesome and a very good way to make money, though it still of course requires combat skills. I take it you are aware of the exploration system, yes?

As far as scouting...Scouting is incredibly important. Knowing who does what, where...what enemy JB networks look like...where they like to rat and mine...is all crucial information, mostly in 0.0.

Another option is finding unoccupied wormholes with a lot of empty sites and static WHs leading to other desirable places, selling the BMs off to those looking for one - Not sure what the market is for this, but it's worth a shot.

Corollary: If you find an inhabited WH and happen to note that inhabitants seem to have enemies (you need to do some research. In the corp window, you can see any wars they're involved in), you can sell an entrance to their WH.

There's tons of things you can do in this regard. Information is powerful.

Fun anecdote: I started typing this post up a long time ago, shortly after you made the thread, then I opened another tab to check if I was spelling 'corollary' right...and forgot about the post and went off to do other things.

You probably won't be buying many plexes with exploration/intel profession (unless you get some very nice drops/ninja salvage/generous benefactors), but it's the most fun I've ever had in EVE. Intel is life and death.
