If you feel down, if you feel like this is the darkest day, then reach out, reach out and tell someone.

My darkest was when my fiancé, Kim, passed in 2013 from a sudden heart attack...and that was the year we would finally have everything in place to get married.

My friends in the real world, and my friends that I know from gaming, including EVE, listened to me and collectively helped me keep my head on straight and not go into total hermit mode.

As much that a year later I made my first trip to EVE Fanfest to finally give myself a break and vacation instead of working all the time...with any luck I will eventually be back (you can't miss me, i'm the six foot six native American dude, lol.)

In any case...reach out, Tell Someone.

An important and worthy message OP.

I'm reminded of Brave's 'Broadcast for Reps' campaign.

We hit our 'please help' short keys in fleet when under attack but many people choose not to in real life. Perhaps it is not wanting to scare or 'burden' their loved ones and friends.

There is no shame in taking DPS from real life, there is no end of voluntary organisations in the real world who can help you in confidentiality. Indeed many people in this game would be willing to provide support to their corp/alliance/coalition colleages behind the annonymity of your avatar.

If local repping doesn't cut it then 'Broadcast for Reps'!

A message worthy of a thousand likes.

Would likely help for a Suicide Hotline, or other ways to contact someone if they feel a bit down and sinking.

I like the idea of euthanasia.
People would have to under go psychological therapy to qualify and if they were certain they wanted to end their lives, at least they could say good bye to their family and depart with some dignity.

(Most of the "suicide" calls that I took were really just cries for attention or help. The only genuine one I had was a woman who said she had taken pills before and had her stomach pumped, so this time she was standing in the bath with a toaster and all she wanted was someone else, other than her family to find her body.)

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

My family has been affected by suicide. I encourage anyone contemplating it to contact someone they trust.

There is a player-run channel in-game that invites people struggling through depression to discuss it. I wish I knew the channel. Can someone post it if they know it?
