First, I got both implants. So to anyone who thinks I'm raging... well, don't. ;)

I realize, and I'm not trying to be hostile with this, but that's the way it nevertheless appears to many who have active accounts.

You meet the same purpose by triggering the gift for "all accounts active from day X to day Y". Those who want it and are inactive will subscribe and log in. Those who are subscribed and want it will log in.

One of your purposes can hardly be to pull active subscribers from an unredeemable situation where they have ongoing business. You essentially penalize these folk by making the gift expire before they can get to a station and they're the very people you want to retain.

This is currently the only way our redeeming system can do that. When you have a large enough group of customers, there will be always be a group of people misinterpreting, making mistakes...or simply being in a situation that makes it hard for them to go to a station and redeem, causing them to feel left out and of course nobody wants that.

Technically I'm pretty sure that what you are suggesting is not possible at the moment, but I'll bring it up internally and see if the system we have allows us to make improvements in this direction.

Thanks for looking into the system. I'm sure it'll make a lot of folk happy to see this improved. I don't think any of the items received in this way are ever overly game changing (and I see them available cheaply via contracts), but from a PR perspective it's huge.

All "veteran gifts" should trigger for whatever criteria CCP sets and then remain indefinitely redeemable. Blizzard and many other companies do this. Not only can items sit in your mailbox after being redeemed before you have to store it in finite inventory, but some (Aion, I believe, for example) even have an out of game redeem page in account management where you can assign monthly accumulated gifts when you see fit to individual characters.

What does CCP have to gain by stripping gifts from accounts that qualified for them? If I see something appear there, I assume it to be an undelivered asset. Removing it is not unlike coming back from a 2yr inactive break and finding that not only have you removed all Noctis BPs from the game, but all Nocti in-game as well instead of letting them blow up eventually.

Feedback suggests there's plenty of upset from folks who feel they should have been able to redeem it at their leisure. I think CCP should re-evaluate the practice of stripping redeemable gifts.

That's a fair suggestion. Our intention was never to "strip people of gifts" but they had to be claimed during this window for them to serve one of their purposes, which was to give people an extra incentive to subscribe and log in. Would it be possible to have a "Redeem at" option to select a station, such as Jita 4-4, for the item to redeem at? People would still have to go to Jita to get it, but at least it would be at the station instead of vanishing to the ether...

Really, the biggest issue is that you can't redeem to your cargohold. I can't think of any decent reason for this restriction to be in place.

That's also something that I will ask about.

Have to keep in mind what would happen if you tried to redeem to a full or insufficient cargo hold however.

Wait, what?
When I log in in a few hours, the Redeem button will be gone? Just because I havent been at a suitable station yet?
Doh.

Well, I didn't want that implant anyways Roll

Redeeming to cargohold could be an interesting option, but also the ability to redeem to the station where your medical clone is... If remembering correctly, before the redeeming system was implemented, all gifts were delivered to that location.

Improving the reddeming system to also let you do that would help a lot for those who are unable to dock in a "suitable" station during the given window of the offer.

This would be a nice option.

OK, so, you didn't read/understand what was stated clearly in print, and CCP miscommunicated??

Huh, interesting...

Redeem to cargo could drop it in a jet can / launch it, if the cargo is full or too small.

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

Extra incentive to subscribe: Right with you Smile

Extra incentive to log in? The biggest issue here is that it's mostly the people that will already be logging in that will see the message about the free item.
I had to put a long skill on for a couple of weeks and not login due to work commitments. I have to be honest and say that as much as I love Eve, checking the Eve news page / login screen for free items wasn't at the top of my list over this period.

I know, I know. Other than phoning every subscriber personally and letting them know, this is always going to happen. But I'd just like to reiterate what's been said above: Free items are awesome to get people to subscribe, but as a long term subscriber with multi accounts.....It'd be nice to not miss out on the items due to Real Lifeā„¢ showing it's ugly face Bear
