The FW Dilemma - Plexing, Neuts, and Security Status!

Well, I warp into a Plex and find a fight going on between my faction Militia and some neuts. I would like to help my fellow pilots defending their Plex but the only suspects are my Militia (they must have initiated combat because obviously if a neut is entering a war zone he's looking for a fight!) and attacking a neut in low sec will lower your sec status and give anyone the right to kill you! So, with those thought's in mind I choose to back off... Seems weird that I have to let someone open up on me in order to retain sec status and maintain a life in high sec... Not that there is any benefit to having 5.0 sec status (which wouldn't be a bad idea, something like a faster response time for Concord) other than being able to travel freely through Empire space but having it make me feel trusty. I know anyone can purchase tags to get to 0.0 sec but I like to feel good about earning mine! Anyhow, would it make sense to apply a suspect flag to anyone other than Militia entering a Plex? I really wanted to assist my Militia mates. Plus FW is directly connected to the lore of the game, it should have a lot more consideration! What would you do?

Oh yeah and the next neut that comes around if you live through defending your Plex and you don't have a rep so you'll have to leave anyway or wait for a passive shield regen before the next contestant warps in and won't have to worry about a sec lose because you'll be a suspect (pardon me I'm chuckling inside... the rules of engagement are tickling me) for initiating combat on a neut entering a FW Plex AKA War zone... I'm trying to make some LP here! No time for shinanigans... Win a fight with a neut lose 10k LP. Wish I could have earned LP for the time I invested trying, this would make fw more enjoyable and rewarding.

Let's see, neutral player ships in FW Plex fighting fellow Militia members.

Those neutral ships shouldn't have been there in the first place. Maybe those neutral ships were trying to gank FW players or helping the enemy Militia take control.

Anyway, if I was in the same Militia as the other FW players who were fighting the neutrals in that plex, I would have helped them.

As for Security Tags, those can only raise negative security status up to neutral 0.00

After gaining neutral security status, killing NPC's is the only way to get positive security status.

Thanks for the link. It doesn't say anything about 5+ though. Gonna fix my babble above thanks.

However the link does say how to raise security up to +5.00 status.

Security Status increase is gained every 5 minutes for the single most highest bounty NPC destroyed.

Doing that shouldn't take long to get back max security status, especially with the skill 'Fast Talk' trained to level 5.

Seriously? Grow a pair. You don't even need to worry about sec status until it drops below -2.0.

suspect status for neutrals entering FW plexes has been floated around for a while.

personally meh, just sec status. I'd rather shoot first and ignore the concept. Plus it is super easy to farm, take an ishtar, warp into a mission, launch light drones, then go afk for a while. Gila with med drones isn't a bad idea, will kill faster and make you more isk, but need to interact with client more often to change rooms or accept new missions.

You're at war! Defend your plex against all interlopers. You come off as a dweeb for not helping out your fellow militia member.

FAIR... defend territory only to be flagged so ANYONE can shoot you? Even dumb ass friendly Militia with their overview not set up properly... You guys are like slaves that have excepted their demise... I don't want to run missions because I got penalized for defending my STATE... Why should I bother? How about that new player experience? Hell, anyone entering any enemy Militia High sec zone should go suspect so we all can defend the State... Enemy Militia camping High sec trade hubs in Stratigic Crusiers sitting on un dock with Loki's... All that time skilling up to kill noobs?

sec status is just a number, and with tags4sec it couldn't mean less (not that it meant much before)

Do you even know how sec status works? Do you even know how kill rights work?

You don't get kill right in low sec!

https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Kill_rights

In low security space, kill rights are only given when a pod is aggressed. Kill rights are not generated when a ship is unlawfully attacked in low security space.

^ hence you can get kill rights in lowsec. that said anyone that shoots a pod in low is probably ready to deal with whatever comes from it. although maybe getting kill rights and selling them for cheap would be something you could do afk, just put your pod on autopilot though lowsec, or afk in space, see if anyone shoots at it.

TBH I long for the halcyon days of EVE (probably pre-Empyrean), and none of this tradeable kill rights malarkey existed.

Space was a more honest place - men were men, women were men, and children were probably men too.

Perfection is a dish best served like wasabi .
