linking EVE Central and online spreadsheets

Does anyone know of a forum thread explaining how to link a spreadsheet on Google Drive and EVE Central? If not does anyone know how to do this and could you please explain? I'll pay 50 million ISK for instructions if they work

Used to be you'd use importxml for this. That's now a bad idea. Now, a custom function like the one below is what to use. There's an example sheet.

a little overwhelming to look at, but I have to get around to understanding this too heh, with EMD breaking lately, and eve-central xml imports being unreliable.
