CSM Little Things - Jayne's List

Hey guys!

With the summer summit coming up quickly, I wanted to start getting prepared. I have my own list of things I want to talk to CCP about, but I thought I would open this up. if you have something small that you'd like me to bring up to CCP, then please leave a comment here. This isn't for bugs, UI fixes, or anything of that sort - but for small changes in game functionality of mechanics.

GOOD: Cynosural modules should have a physical timer instead of relying on the single revolution.
BAD: Cynosural modules sometimes don't cycle red in heavy tidi, fix this CCP PLEASE. Roll


Anyway, my list so far:

  1. persistent ship scanner and cargo scanner results
  2. refit and unfit "grouped" turrets
  3. saved refits or "configurations" for easy swapping (max 3?)
  4. ability to refit to and from the fleet hangar w/o fitting window
  5. ability to swap character training on an account w/o relogging
  6. jump clone swapping within the same station w/o timer
  7. cynos working between fleets, "rebroadcast cyno"
  8. remove neural remaps and attributes
  9. distinctive skins for each alliance during the tournament
  10. official channel listings for LORE and NPSI channels
  11. cycle time on logistics reps being different (medium vs large)
  12. keep track of who deleted a corporate or alliance bookmark
  13. hotkey to launch deployable, possibly a "deployable" bay?
  14. More tabs on the overview
  15. notifications for directors/managers on pilot leaving corporation
  16. there is no "ctrl+A" option on right click "view contents" on ships
  17. "member corps" page of the alliance tab should have more info
  18. change fitting modules that are "one only" or "maxed slots"
  19. jump bridge modules show "use" on selected item in overview
  20. The contact list limit needs to be increased.
  21. make list of things/requirements to increase index public
  22. sort contract availability using checkboxes, not dropdown
  23. reload and repair persist through gate jump
  24. watchlists only on mutual approval
  25. range bonus to hull reps on triage
  26. restrict from self destructing while inside of a pos

Overheating state remembered between jumps OR be able to overheat under cloak. Whichever is mechanically easier.

A small graphical 'ping' animation under the pointer when you double-click in space, to inform the pilot their course correction has been acknowledged.

The ability to lock the camera depth of field setting between session changes, and perhaps a % readout of what it's set at when you adjust it. (I wants it on 20% all the time :D)

Review LP and tag costs for faction items, remove NPC buy orders for commonly required tags, diversify the kinds of tags required (there are quite a few of the lower tier ones that are ignored outright).

Fix the performance issues witnessed with many faction and dedspace tank modules

Be able to Copy/Select/ctrl-C (and Select-All) from character sheet Augmentations page. (Currently cannot select implants, for pricing or dragging - instead need to go to Info on each, one at a time.)

Would be great if I could toggle overload on for the next cycle I activate while a module is cycle-red - if that makes any sense. Currently, if I overload while cycle-red, the overload light flashes (as usual) but resets to off when cycle-red finishes. The current behaviour of active overloads resetting to off when module deactivates is fine, I'd just like to be able to pre-overload reps when quickly moving swapping cycles between targets.

1: Make ship Cynos work like POS cynos - requires people to be in the same corp/alliance (a lot of people will hate this, but will also keep neuts/blues from cynoing hostiles into their space). Maybe limit to standard cynos and not covert.

2: Jump Clones - redesigned them to have a Jump fatigue! You want people to do things, make it easier for then to change jump clones so they can interact more with what is going on. Instead of the "I just jumped into my 10 billion pod, sorry can't go roam".

3. Stop breaking the game in one way or another when you launch a patch.

4: reserved.

5: Allow players to repair items in containers, as well as repair items in corp hangers without having to drag the items into the players personal hanger.

6: Option to allow players to purchase a shard hanger (not corp based) that they can give view/take access to for others > and make an API that shows who you share your stuff with. Just like wallet transaction, contracts and such. Provide the right security, and check & balance system… so this works.

You know - I'm probably dreaming here but some numbers and rationales in the feedback and balancing threads would be really useful to get context.

So I'm thinking along the lines of what happened in the jackdaw revision - scan res reduced. No clues as to why, or what the problem was with it marginally higher. I didn't see anyone complain about it previously. Now don't mistake this for a complaint about the change - it is a complaint about the lack of reasoning behind it.

Feedback is a two way street - if we are not privy to the numbers or reason behind decisions we cannot realistically offer targeted, useful feedback.

Likewise when feedback is generally all tending in a certain direction but they take a different steer (for example, missile rebalance, phoebe) it would be good to have a bit more explanation than "just because"; it disenfranchises people who think they are simply being ignored. Now sometimes that reason will be "just because" (see phoebe), not every change will be popular - but we currently lack this closure.

I appreciate they will never please everyone but taking a little time to explain the WHY behind various revisions would be really useful as well as help dispel the myth that feedback is ignored.

Ed: I don't even mind if it was edited minutes or a simple post. Something, anything to help get the community and the devs on the same page - even if they do not agree, at least they are all looking at the same damned thing from the same place.

Ed2: And earlier posts about upcoming balance changes - they're often posted right at the wire with little to no time to be reviewed. For example the BC tweaks....? Surely due soon, not a sight nor sound in here though.

I dont agree with changing how the watchlist works. Eve is a huge system and watchlist along with locator agents are exactly where they need to be. This is a PVP game so lets keep it that way.

Reduce cycle time of cynos (the regular ones) down to one minute to give recon ships a reason to make use of the bonus. It doesn't make any sence to use a 150 million boat to light a cyno for 10 minutes or whatever and everyone yolos over it.

Give force recons an isotope bay? Doesn't need to be huge, maybe 500m³ will suffice.

Missiles! I hate to break it to you again but I am still not pleased with medium and large missiles. Turrets have wrecking shots, missiles don't, discussion unnecessary.

Battlecruisers and battleships, blackops and the removal of capital ships are on the todo list.

ECM needs to become a boolean ewar, not a random one. Explanation unnecessary, I gave you one.

Ewar drones need lotsa love.

Corporate launch option for deployables.

Energy neutralizers are too popular for their own good, pleases one dev, not the capsuleers. Heavy nosferatu modules need their cycle time reduced, 24 minutes is too long.

The left side neocomes needs a change of the blinking sequence. The silver shine thing needs to stop at some point on it's own, epilepsy and stuff.

The forums are the official communication platform for EVE, use it, it works both ways. If we wouldn't have some nice fellas with twumbletwitter accounts we would not be able to talk to you at all.

1. Persistent trade window location.

2. The "Unified Inventory" is not unified! When I fly up to some accessible object in space, be it a wreck, hacking can, mobile depot, etc., and open that remote cargo using any method (right click, overview, or radial menu) it opens a unified inventory window (cargo#1). From there, I can access my ship's cargo as well as whatever may be in the remote cargo. But, if I open my own cargohold (in space) by using the button next to my capacitor, it opens an entirely different cargo window (cargo #2). It would be much better if everything just opened in the same (persistently located) window.

3. Notifications about newly assigned contracts do not pop up on log in (like mails and other new notifications do), almost all of the time, that little ping! and notifications window only show up when I actually open the contracts window.

From what I know, this would only count as a "little thing" if CCP has finally sent some poor brave souls delving into the code to root out every instance where the game assumes that the active character is the one you initially logged in with. If so, it heralds a number of lovely changes, like the ability to swap characters without quitting and relaunching. If not, it's not really a "little thing."

I'm not fishing for an answer, honestly. (Well, OK, I'm not only fishing for an answer. Twisted) This could be one of those "it sounds little, but it requires three people and six months" kind of things.

This sounds suspiciously like the guy in GD who believed that he was entitled to the loot dropped by the people he killed in duels. There are no tears like the hot, bitter tears of rage shed by people who have exerted themselves only to see their prizes vanish before their eyes. It's not like the current ability to self destruct within POS shields has prevented evictors from making off with tens and hundreds of billions of ISK in loot.

Add another role to the mailing list and channels like administrator/(creator of the channel/list) and operator with limited rights MOTD change... so that it limits possiiblity to nuke/block a channel. Atm there is only one role with the same possibilities for all that have it.

And a possiblity of having two-rows for a chat channel windows so that you can fit more channels in similar amount of space

a new type of slot on select ships for purely esthetic bling, like hood ornaments with corp logos

25km micro jump drive for t2 cruisers

better unbonused armor reppers for more effective spider tanking

fewer and less bonuses for logi (disclaimer: i love logi and fly logi in most fleets i'm in)
