Hi,
As I c it, EVE pilots r in there capsules when inside a ships. so it would be pretty hard to get out of the capsule to walk around. and with total automation. a crew would be un needed, but the ships should have a small marine group to fight off intruders. Now the marines would have equipment and the capsuleer should have equipment too, like a jump suit.; EVE is set some 26,000 years from now, and robot, engine, and general life situations far in advance of our current level of technology. Personally, I would like to start writing some EVE short Stories.

- displayed decorations
- station walk abouts
- and drops to planet surfaces, but a drop would mean u would drop with your marines and your ship would be empty, and easy to get inside and destroy the ship
- interface would be coded and encrypted, so no one could steal a pod.

It is the best game ever, and with some RP changes , it would be untouchable by any 3 rate attempt to make a competitor fall to waist side and cry big tears.Big smile

The only ships one can entirely control by themselves are frigates. Every other ship in the game requires a crew to some degree or another. You also don't have to be connected to your ship via pod all the time either as I recall.

I could be wrong about this but ships are not typically equipped with the facilities to decant a Capsuleer. Some people RP that they have made such arrangements but even in those cases the ships tend to be fairly large. If such practice has ever been discussed in the lore I am not immediately familiar with it.

IIRC only capital ships have facilities to extract a capsuleer while inside a ship, but this leaves the ship incredibly vulnerable with only basic systems online and obviously no one to react to an attack , etc. I'm not sure if there is any actual canon stance on this, but that is the state of fanon as far as I'm aware.

Some people do roleplay as if they were a normal starship captains slash baseliners, and they're free to do so, but other roleplayers refuse to acknowledge this as well.

Ships with capsule-extraction facilities are referred to as cross-capsule variants, and are implied to be quite rare in the lore.

Conceivably, a baseliner crew could take over while the capsuleer is disconnected - though for us, CONCORD regulations my prevent this.

I too remember reading a dev's post about decanting in-ship, stating pretty much the same information, that only capital ships have the facilities, unless specifically installed. And sub-battlecruiser classes may not even have the place for such facilities.

However, it hasn't stopped players from writing fiction about going in and out of capsule while on smaller ships.
