There are a number of battleships which will do this quite merrily though.

From the top of my head with common fits before I even get to thinking about weirder ones: Rattlesnake (LOLBONUSEDRLML), bhaalgorn, vindicator, dominix family.

No what needs to happen is either the phoenix model be fixed or the capital missile launcher models do right now they look like giant fridge magnets just slapped onto the hull

They are launcher platforms for missiles as long as entire ships. What do you want them to look like? Heavy missile launchers? Can you imagine how long these launcher barrels would need to be in order to house these missiles? There is a reason why missile launch platforms here on earth for these huge ICBM are mostly hidden in the ground: It is completely unfeasible to mount these missiles horizontally. And keeping the largest part of the missile body and launch platform hidden inside a sturdy hull protects these highly explosive pieces of destruction.
The current Citadel launcher model make perfect sense. Not so much their placement (for instance on these movable platforms at the top and bottom of the Phoenix), however.

I'm sure I can come close or match your fit if I keep playing around with PYFA long enough. If anything, seeing that vid has made me realize that the Phoenix could actually be better in some cases when armor tanked, but it would make that 4% bonus to all shield resistances hull bonus redundant. Making me starting to wonder if CCP should've given a different bonus like 5% explosion radius or 5% missile damage bonus instead of the 4% all shield resist bonus.

It used to have a damage bonus. It was lolkinetic because :caldari: .

Phoenix is fine, I have corpmates who are actively trying to lose their Naglfars so they can justify buying a Phoenix.

If you want to reliably hit frigates with large guns you need alot of tracking/web/tp mods, enough that you barely have any slots left for tank (think repper + 1 resist or cap booster)

RLML Rattle vs Vindicator?
Bhaalgorn vs Machariel (or any other capless dps battleship)
Dominix vs Vindicator?
Vindicator can just use any regular pvp fit due to OP web strenght, but then frigs can actualy outrange its web

bring good friend in Rapier/Huginn, and put Missile Guided Computing scripted for precision. bam probably apply much better enough to blap cruiser

I only trained the Phoenix because I was looking for a PVE Dread and I already had missiles trained. But if I was looking for a PVP Dread it would've definitely been the Moros and I would've fitted it like this monster.

I love my megathrons and the perfect dread for me would be the moors but I chose the phoenix, there is a reason for this.
