Lvl 4 PVE Mission - Sleipnir or Fleet phoon?

Finally saved up a enough isk to go for one of either the Sleipnir, or the fleet issue typhoon. Yes, there's other stuff out there, but these are two i like, and as far as i'm concerned that's all that matters :)

So given i'm not about to entertain any other ship possibility, what would people recommend between the two for a lvl 4 mission running setup?

Any insight appreciated!

fleet phoon. The thing is a dps monster. Can armor/shield tank with cruise missiles and sentry drones. there have been a few new mods added since I last played with it. so I'm not quite sure on an optimal fit. probably worth playing with the new missile guidance enhancers/computers, and switching between shield/armor setups to see what is best.

My thought was to fit either of them with as many autocannons as they can hold, fly my quick little @$$ in and shred things... shield tanking on the sleip, armor tanking on the fleet phoon...

If you're going the autocannon route... why not go for a Machariel instead? Other than 25mbit less drone bandwidth the basic layout is the same, except the Machariel is specifically-bonused for autocannons and has 50% more warp speed.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

I would have suggested the mach had you not said to not mention other ships. given the difference in price between a fleet phoon and a mach is a bit over 100m, I'd say it is a conversation worth having. If that 100m means the difference perhaps it might be a good idea to hold off on faction ships for a little while. Also a tempest is much closer to a mach than a fleet phoon. It got a sweet damage boost not too long ago. But I think I'd probably just hold off a little longer and pick up a sweet mach if that is what you are really interested in.

Buy a PLEX. Sell for over a billion ISK. Buy a Mach, 3 republic fleet gyros and a deadspace shield booster.

Burn through level 4s like a demon and look good doing it.

It will pay for itself very quickly if you run missions for the right faction.

ACs are sorta wasted on the fleet phoon.
As is, there are a lot of ships that would do better with ACs. And phoon would be better with missiles. Especially considering the fitting.

By a mach. It only costs some 100m more.
Or if you absolutely have to choose between the phoon and the sleip - get the latter. At least it can tank when T2 fit. Would probably be relatively decent for blitzing.

I fly a Sleipnir in Lev 4's with my NM alts and I say the my 720 arty Sleip can keep up with the NMs just fine. But truth be told, the Sleipnir has much better tank while the Mach shreds better. But overall I'd choose the Mach for PVE, the Sleipnir really only shines in PVP when fitted with dual XL-ASBs.

Used a fleet phoon (Armor tanked) quite a bit and they're great but definitely a cruise boat. It synergies really well with sentries. If you are set on guns then definitely the mach, tempest or even the maelstrom (I used to fly an arty mael back before I got my first Vargur). The sleip will have trouble putting out dps, especially at range. It's more tank than dps.

If you like the idea of a cruise/sentry boat with more emphasis on sentries then theres always the geddon or the currently favorite the Rattlesnake (Pretty sexy too). The Gila can put out a surprising amount of damage while having a solid tank (if you have the skills) and can run Lv4s easily.
