Has there been any news on the States stance on the drifters yet? All my contacts are coming up with nothing at the moment.

This is such a huge threat to the State and humanity that I feel we must act quickly in this instance.

While I can't speak in an official capacity for the State.....I would imagine something along the lines of 'kill it' sounds about right.

Damn drifters...

Why won't they come planet side so i can shove my Caldari steel boot a mile up their ass?

I would imagine that data is currently being gathered. Until that is completed, I should imagine that the State government has a party line of "The problems of others are not our concern."

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

It was reported that, "The Caldari Navy has been placed on alert along State borders and Megacorporation security forces have been mobilized for "purposes of maintaining the internal security of state and corporate assets given the clear danger from the Drifter entities.""

"Angels live, they never die, Apart from us, behind the sky. They're fading souls who've turned to ice, So ashen white in paradise."

So, that would be a "Kill it if it comes in our territory." response, then.

Given threat of Drifter, is it will be necessary to form alliance with Gallente, Amarr and Minimatar?

Have the Amarr called at all for outside military aid, aside from capsuleers?

It might be sensible if they did, at least from the State. A joint task force or something?

Maybe they can't afford to look weak right now, though....

It could well come to that - I've already indicated my willingness to fly with Capsuleers with any loyalty, from State through Federation all the way to Goon if it comes to that - with no stupid political strings attached except cease-fire and reciprocity.

Suppose Drifter demonstrate that they are only aggressive toward Amarr, Should Caldari State get involved and risk a possible retribution from Drifter, or stay out of the war and hope that Drifter will not be aggressive toward other 3 empire?

That decision is well above my pay-grade! If the CEP decides that the State is at war with the Drifters then we are at war. There are compelling reasons to go in both directions.

On the one hand, the Empire certainly didn't confer with the State before declaring war on the Drifters, so I believe that the State is not bound to match that declaration with one of their own (and I can infer this because the State has NOT declared war). This war is likely to be expensive and put many lives at risk - why should the State bear the burden without cause?

On the other hand, if the Empire requests aid and we refuse - even if contractually permitted to do so - it may well cause sufficient bad feeling to end the Alliance, which is arguably the only thing standing between the State and immediate open war with the Republic and the Federation. It might also lead to the de facto destruction of the Empire, which would have much the same effect - although with a countervailing possibility of taking the Republic out of the alliance once the Empire is no longer a threat

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

I don't think you should need any confirmation at the moment.
Unless the officials will say otherwise, they are direct enemies of the State, as they have openly attacked ally of the State - the Amarr Empire.

Honored are the dead, for their legacy guides us.

But we have yet to hear aid request from Amarr.

I would put my sentiments as such:

I against my brother. My brother and I against our cousins in our corporate division. Our department against other divisions in our corporation. Our corporation against the other corporations in our Mega. Our Mega against the other Megas in the State. The State against other humans. And other humans against that which is not.

Neither Sansha or the Drifters share this final division.

How Typically Caldari.
This is really why I like your people, so entirely logical.

I only hope that with the State's unfailing logic they come to the same agreement in time to do some good.

You can likely count on it. Having a reaving force of uncommunicative aliens capable of popping out of nowhere and alpha striking a Titan off the field, along with the pilots pod before anyone can even dent their shields and then running off?

That's what's called 'bad for business'. Even if they have no stated or visibly hostile intent, their existence is a threat to the State. And the Caldari State prides itself on having the pinnacle of technology. So, I want those guns for my own ship.

At this point, each individual Empire's "stance" on the Drifters is somewhat irrelevant. They have invaded Amarr space, but they have killed capsuleers of every race and affiliation, and will no doubt continue to do so. The speed and reach of their expansion is yet to be determined, but at this point they constitute a grave threat to the entire cluster; either we all band together, learn more about them, and fight, or it appears they will wipe us all away.

They fire on people based on aggression or trespassing. Same as any other Navy. Past that the only entities they seem to be actively aggressing against have been the Amarr. The former Empress specifically and those who carry out her will in general.

Agreed, this is no more a threat to the entire cluster than the Amarr themselves until proven otherwise by the Drifters actions. Hell for all we know the ancestral Amarr destroyed the Drifters ancestors when they gained control of their first planets and the Drifters really know how to hold a grudge.

I'm leaning more towards them being somewhat aggravated Sleepers though.
