Ding, Dong ... the Witch is dead...

OK. I have been hanging out in Minmatar space around Hek and if I hear that stupid jingle...

"Ding, Dong the Witch is dead... the Wicked Witch is dead..."

One more freakin time I'm going to lose it! I have no idea where it came from but its becoming really annoying. Also the heavy drinking and partying is going way, WAY overboard. Being Gallente and having worked extensively with Republic Security I have better than average relations with my Minmatar hosts but in spite of that, at best I can describe them as 'standoffish' with outsiders. Now With the outrageous consumption of intoxicating beverages the Minmatar have become very social... too social!! ... almost Gallente social and its weirding me out. It's just not natural...

While I am sympathetic to and understand the motive for the jubilation it is simply becoming impossible to do business anywhere. I love the trade hub in Hek but now the base personnel are either absent, intoxicated or impossible to approach due to hoards of drunken revelers shouting 'have another' or 'lets see the replay again' or just plain maniacal laughing. Having to step around passed out bodies and puddles of vomit has gotten so bad I've had to lock myself in my ship. Get a grip people!

On the other hand I also bought some shares in Quafe as I think their stock price is about to go astronomical...

Insanity is not hubris, not pride; it is inflation of the ego to its ultimate - confusion between him who worships and that which is worshipped. Man has not eaten God; God has eaten man.

There's always one hour devoted to throwing stools and rolled mats at each other for whatever reason.

All the reasons are alcohol-related, mixed with feuds and bad blood.

I'm not sure I understand all this talk of witches. Has a prominent Matari shaman died or something?

'Witch', as in an insult term to refer to a crone.

Hek is a strange place at the best of times. I wouldn't read too much into revelry there.

Not all Minmatar are celebrating the death of someone they consider an enemy. I was with the farmhands at my my family estates just the other day, and the workers - pretty much all Minmatar - were thoughtful and reflective about the matter rather than celebratory. Many of them are worried about kin still in the Empire - the threat from the Drifters to them is real, as are concerns about reprisals from angry Amarr.

We have received some significant and unusually large orders for our wine and brandy this last week, but not disproportionally shipping to Republic space.

On my side, there's about one hour of gasping, then it's business as usual.

Surrounded by people who want us dead can really change our perspective about impending doom.

I don't think anybody would consider Jamyl a crone... I first heard the term Witch after Mekhios, what with the back-from-the-dead and the sorcery-like destruction of the Elders.

Meh, most of us don't care one way or another that your zombie empress has been returned to her constituent atoms.

By the way, we are also all zombies. Just thought we should be reminded of that.

More like daemons possessing one body after another. If you tried to explain our existence to our ancestors a thousand years ago there's a good chance they'd just burn us at the stake!

Makes you wonder what other sacrilegious acts will become the norm in the next decade.

This should be common sense. I also find it particularly rich that certain people complain about some people celebrating her death when many of the same certain people couldn't wait the Empress' body to get cold before they started clamoring their support for her successor.
