The Ceremony at Sarum Prime. Holorecording of a holoavatar of Alizebeth Amalath starts, neocom router broadcast to the local channel, signal Source Sarum Omen TES Jamyl Sarum:

Quote:
“I will not hesitate when the test of Faith finds me, for only the strongest conviction will open the gates of paradise. My Faith in you is absolute; my sword is Yours, My God, and Your will guides me now and for all eternity.”

“The Scriptures, Prophet Kuria, Paladin's Creed”

“In all the Scriptures, there is not a better verse that describes her Majesty. Empress Jamyl lived and died without fear, secure in the knowledge that God’s Will guided her. Her people saw this in her and we loved her for it.”

“We loved her, because she inspired us to be better than we were. An Empress, a woman without peer, one so beloved by God that she was set aside for great things, she was the best of us. And now that she is gone, we all feel sadness.”

“We may take comfort in knowing that it is God’s plan, but we will still feel her loss keenly.”

“Empress Jamyl was a very popular heir. So popular that her supporters were outraged at the loss of the succession trials. So outraged that they even tried to stage a coup to put her on the throne instead of Emperor Doriam II.”

“But this too was in accordance with God’s plan. It was Empress Jamyl’s test of faith. ‘For whosoever shall lay his life down for his Lord, he shall be taken into the arms of God and forever consecrated will he be.’ ”

“Given a choice between taking the throne for selfish reasons, or obeying the edicts of God, our beloved Empress chose to obey God, prevented a civil war and died.”

“That was not the end of God’s plan for her. Her faith tested and found worthy, God sent her back to us. Heralded by the Bright Star, the Empress returned to us in our darkest hour since 23216 at least and maybe even further than that.”

“The Empire was ruled by a blooder heretic. The very foundations of the Empire were crumbling. There was no Emperor to guide us. The Minmatar were in our home systems in a brutal surprise attack.”

“God sent Empress Jamyl to us so that she could do what we could not. She saved us.”

“In our gratitude, we gave her the throne that she had turned down earlier and she made the Empire strong again. New cutting edge ships were launched, the Navy is proud, capsuleers swore loyalty to her and Empire.”

“We have started to reunite with our Khanid brethren. All of this is because of Empress Jamyl. She did what we could not. She was our saviour.”

“Months ago, another star appeared in the night’s sky, all across New Eden. Like the Bright Star, it too defies all explanation from what we know of the laws of physics. Caroline’s Star heralded the return of God’s servant to Him.”

“I do not know for sure if the Empress knew that her time with us was coming to a close, but I believe that she did.”

“Her appearances to us, urging us to fight the Drifters, the new Abaddon, all of it was a frantic attempt to help” Alizebeth chokes up a bit and pauses briefly before continuing* “prepare us for her passing.”

Alizebeth chokes down a sob and wipes the tears from her eyes. “Your Majesty, how truly great are you.”

“She was our saviour, but there comes a time when we must save ourselves. This threat, these Drifters, they are not Minmatar fleets easily destroyed in a single shot; they are so much more dangerous.”

“To defeat them will take all of us, the Navy, capsuleers, the combined might of the Empire. But defeat them, we will. God took her back to Him, so that we might stand now.”

“God’s will. . . . But oh, how her loss is felt. We will never forget Empress Jamyl. We will never forget what she did for us, her majesty and grace. We will never forget her inspiration. We will never forget the conviction with which she served God.”

“Empress, my Empress! We will never forget you. You will live on in the hearts of your faithful and loyal subjects until your return.”

"At the end of days when they descend, watch for the coming of the Ark, for within it, salvation is carried. - The Scriptures, Book II, Apocalypse 32:6 "

“My brothers and sisters, we have seen God’s miracles. We have seen the Ark come and carry our salvation and we have seen her carried back. The very stars proclaim the Glory of God and the majesty of His Will.”

“One day, the Empire will need a savior again and when we cry out to God for Mercy, the Ark will come and bring back our once and future Empress, Jamyl Sarum I.”

Broadcast source change. Broadcast registered to Nicoletta Mithra:

Quote:
"All things were created by the Divine, and so the glory of our faith is inherent to us all;
When thine heart shines with the Light, thou shalt know no hardship;
When thine actions are in Light's name, thou art immortal.”

Alizebeth allows for a little pause, emphasizing the gravity of the words just spoken. “The Scriptures, Book of Trials 2:1”

“In this time hardship seems to encroach to us. We, who are left behind by our beloved Empress feel this keenly indeed. Death seemed to take away Jamyl Sarum from us. But let us not forget: ‘When thine actions are in Light's name, thou art immortal.’”

“So, we can rest assured: Jamyl Sarum’s actions were in the Light’s name, therefore she is truly immortal. We should follow her in this and not rest in the false security of the capsule and cloning.”

“And remember: ‘When thine heart shines with the Light, thou shalt know no hardship.’ So, we can rest assured: Jamyl Sarum’s heart shines with the Light, so she knew no hardship. We should follow her in this and there will be no hardships for us.”

“We need to remember this right now. They are important lessons taught to us by Scripture as well as by the actions of our most revered Empress. Through this she is with us right now and will be in all eternity.”

“We can’t lose faith now. We have to carry on. Jamyl Sarum wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. The Scriptures, Book of Missions 71:21 says ‘Surround yourself with the faithful, Stand together, for there is no strength like it under the heavens.’”

“It is on us: Let us stand together and we will weather this storm. The Amarr way, with patience and dignity. For the Empress and for God!”

“Amarr Victor. Amen.”

Broadcast source change. Broadcast returned to Alizebeth Amalath:

Quote:
“We are gathered here at the site of our Empress’s greatest triumph. The first real invasion of the Empire in its entire history was stopped dead here and the invaders pushed out. We will always remember that moment.”

“But that is only half the story. Just four jumps away, floats the wreck of TES Seraph and the site of our Empress’s death. Since the attack, I have been maintaining a prayer vigil nonstop with other faithful pilots.”

“Many have visited TES Seraph to pay their respects and to pray. More than a few have self destructed their ship and their pods. I very much understand their feelings. I too wish that I had died with her.”

“Following the benediction I will go to Safizon and I will die with her in an act of devotion, adoration, and respect. And then I will clone to continue the work that she would want us to do. It is what she would want.”

“You are invited to come watch or participate as you wish.”

Local changed to Safizon. Transmission source changed to Auguror TES Paladin.

Quote:
"The Empress did not die alone. Thousands, tens of thousands of her loyal servants died with her."

"Rejoice, o chosen of God for our blood fills this Valley of Death, proclaiming our sacrifice to God, and he shall raise it up for all time. - The Scriptures, Saint Junip 15:11"

"Their families and loved ones will mourn them and we will, too, but later."

"This is the ship I was flying when she was killed." She pauses. "All hands that wish, abandon ship."

Transmission interrupt as TES Paladin is destroyed. Transmission changed to pod systems.

Quote:
"God, almighty, into your loving arms, we commend the spirit of Jamyl Sarum, your annointed daughter. Take her into Your light, to Paradise and give her peace and joy. By your light, by your will."

"God bless."

Transmission ended by catastrophic loss of pod.

Holorecording starts: Holy Mother Alizebeth stands in front of the altar of the Amarr Legio Basilica in her vestments.

Quote:
“Trust in God.” Alizebeth waits several beats. “I know that it is hard right now, but trust in God.”

“This was never a service that I wanted to do. Never one that I expected to do. Despite having seen her death with my own eyes, I still cannot . . . fully believe it.”

“But even in this horror, I see the hand of God, His Plan, His Will. She was sent back to us for a reason, heralded by the Bright Star.”

“The Empire was ruled by a blooder heretic. The very foundations of the Empire were crumbling. There was no Emperor to guide us. The Minmatar were in our home systems in a brutal surprise attack.”

“God sent Empress Jamyl to us so that she could do what we could not. She saved us from the worst crisis the Empire had faced since the Jove War and Minmatar rebellion at least.”

“And when she had done all she could for us, God called her back to Him. Caroline’s Star carried our Empress back. It was the Drifters that killed her, but it was God’s will.”

“It is easy to stand in the shadow of a giant and feel safe. And that is what her majesty was to all of us. A heroine. She was the best of us, the greatest, a protector, a saviour, invincible. With weapons to swat down whole fleets from the sky,”

“she stood between a fragile Empire and harm and we were safe. But now is not the time for us to feel safe. Now, we should feel fear. I tell you this, fear the Drifters. Then channel that fear and kill them all.”

“Her majesty warned us about them. With Caroline’s star, she knew that her time was rapidly ending and she spent her time and energy making sure we could fight them: new ships, new technology.”

“Most importantly, us. As capsuleers, we are the first line of defense of the Empire. So, I tell you all, listen to her majesty’s last commands and fight.”

“Fight them down to the last ship, the last missile, the last drone, the last crystal all the way down to your very eyeteeth to end them. Avenge our fallen Empress!”

A woman is heard to cry out, "For Empress Jamyl!"

Alizebeth takes a breath and tries, mostly successfully, to regain her composure. “There are those of you, of us that have felt the pitfalls of despair. I know I have.” she blinks the tears out of her eyes.

“But we cannot give in. It is not what she would want us to do. We followed her in life, we should follow her in death. Her majesty would tell us all to trust in God, trust in the Empire, trust each other.”

“That is how our Empress lived, in God’s light. She was His voice, His perfect servant. She was our guide and leader and our strength. She is gone now, but her legacy remains. Remember her for what she was and what she is to all of us.”

“We will get a new Emperor, thank the Lord. The Empire needs an Emperor and her Chamberlain is a faithful, just man to ensure the trials will happen. There will be no repeats of last time.”

“And God will work through them. Just as He worked through Jamyl, Doriam II and Heideran VII. But her majesty will always be special. The one person God, in His divine wisdom, returned to us, raised up from the dead. A miracle”

“It is written in the Scriptures, ‘at the end of days when they descend watch for the coming of the Ark for within it, salvation is carried.’ - The Scriptures, Book II, Apocalypse 32:6. My brothers and sisters we have seen the Ark."

“The Scriptures also tell us that the Lord speaks from the heavens. We have seen two signs. The Bright Star and Caroline’s star. One to herald the return of her majesty. One to carry her back to paradise. But this is not the end times.”

“We will see her again. Jamyl Sarum I, the once and future Empress. God has set her aside for a special purpose. But, I say this. Do not look for her soon. God will send her when she is needed. That is not now.”

“Now we must focus on our affairs. We must focus on the Drifters, on the heirs and the next Emperor. Carry on her work and make the Empire strong. Amarr Invictus!”

Recording jump.
Cardinal Kahar Dex's holoform materializes off to the side of the podium and he strides to it. A light flashes against his face repeatedly as is indicative of Kahar being on the bridge of a ship with its klaxon alarms ringing.

Quote:
"Over the past few days, I have considered the tragic loss of our Empress, and I am reminded of that simple scripture regarding the test of Faith."

"From a strict exegetical point of interpretation, that particular tests speaks of one’s devotion and acknowledgement of the one True Faith in Amarr which we all subscribe to, and hold dear. "

"But one thing is painfully clear, and that is… we are all at times, tested, whether by God Himself wishing to strengthen the faithful, or by external forces who would seek to tear us down. In our moments of grieving, I wish to speak on one thing:"

"Holiness."

"God’s destiny for us in Greater Amarria is to bring all of God’s wayward children back unto Him. One critical element is holiness."

"We must be holy, because this is the most likely way to do good to others. "

"I believe that far more is done for Amarr’s Empire by the holy living of believers than we are at all aware of. THere is a reality about such living which makes men feel, and obliges them to think."

"It carries a weight and influence with it which nothing else can give. It makes religion beautiful, and draws men to consider it, like a lighthouse seen afar off."

"You may talk to persons about the doctrines of the scriptures, and few will listen and still fewer understand. Even those within the bounds of reformation may be hard of heart."

"But your life is an argument that none can escape. There is a meaning about holiness which not even the most unlearned can help taking in. They may not understand the stripping of foundations…"

"...but they can understand charity. Empress Jamyl has been an example to us to live as righteous Amarr, in her dealings with the State, in her acts of Compassion with the Federation, and her Emancipation of slaves."

"I believe that at her departure, she would not want us to panic, cast blame amongst one another, or whisper darkness, but that we should follow in Holiness, and await God’s will at the Trials. God bless you all, Amarr Eternal, Amen."

Recording ends.
