As for me, I was a navigation tech on a pilgrim class cruiser run by a capsuleer. We got caught out trying to slip through the HED-GP bottleneck when returning from cracking open pirate vaults. With the navigation stations closest to the pod itself my section of the ship lasted long enough for me to make it out alive. My capsuleer was the only other one to make it out, even if he did get podded.

Fear of death sets in after something like that, and I'm no fool, nothing waits for us after this life.

I'm a naturally curious person. I have a more than passing interest in technology and ancient civilizations. I want to find out what people have done and learned, and find the next steps to extend those roads.


It takes an extreme amount of luck to be a scientist who gets access to even a single ancient relic; it takes a lifetime of such luck to become a chief investigator making active headway.
