I don't disagree that the Elder invasion was an endlessly foolish move that could have destabilized the entire cluster. However, I'd argue it wouldn't have been in vain if not for the Superweapon's construction and use, which, by the way, was an equally endlessly foolish move.

If it is already hard to say with current detachment, how hard is it before taking the actual decision... ?

Is it really that uncommon to mingle with your crew? I regularly mix with my crews during training, shakedowns, and after-hours functions. I'm only their superior on paper, in my opinion - it's mostly a genetic fluke.

No wonder so many eggs get so scrambled.

That... is admirable Ms Scherezad...

None of us are the caricature we use to keep the cluster at arm's reach.

The biggest problem with propaganda isn't when it fails, it's when it succeeds too spectacularly.

I don't know that I'd go that far... but we do certainly use it to present to the cluster an exterior that is not welcoming, and is not happy to engage in idle chatter. We want you to stay away, in general. We have our lives, and the Empires' influences aren't wanted.

So we make sure you hate us, fear us, despise us... anything to keep you from actually trying to talk to us...

... especially the way some of our leadership loves to talk...

How is Mittens by the way? Haven't heard anything about him in quite some time.

Humans must eventually break out from the limits of biology, its not radical to accept the inevitable.

He's fine. Busy, but you know, that's the life of a space tyrant I suppose... spent a few hours with him in fleet in F-Y today.

Being Gallente and not prone to prayer I won't pray for the crew of the Seraph any more than the crew of the Shiigeru over Caldari Prime. I was in point of fact praying that my comrades not only destroy that ship but liberate that planet. As for praying for all the other ship crews across New Eden I simply don't have the time.

On the other hand I suggest you pray for yourselves... At a crucial time in the Drifter war not only have Drifters demonstrated remarkable military prowess but they have an equally powerful intelligence network. I pray the other empires have made note of this...

Also note that with the Empress dead the inevitable jockeying for power will begin within the empire. I might humbly suggest that this is not a good time for an internal fight when faced with such a powerful external threat.

Pray for a transition that can unite rather than divide.

Insanity is not hubris, not pride; it is inflation of the ego to its ultimate - confusion between him who worships and that which is worshipped. Man has not eaten God; God has eaten man.

It becomes apparent that losing the ship was part of Admiral Yanala's plan to save the planet - and her people from ourselves. She was a remarkable woman and an inspiration as a leader. She occupies a place in my heart that before had always been solely occupied by Mathias Sobaseki and Yakiya Tovil-Toba.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

My thanks to all of you who put aside your nationalism long enough to remember that we are all human. The mass murdering of so many humans by a fleet with that sole goal, accomplished so quickly is unprecedented.

The brief incursion that followed in the khanid kingdom demonstrates that the Drifter taste for human death has not yet been satisfied. Our need to know more facts about them and how their technology operates has never been greater.

May all the humans murdered rest in peace knowing their sacrifice will be remembered by many as the warning that aroused a divided humanity and started moving us towards unified action to protect our right of continued inhabitance of the New Eden Cluster.

" We lost a war we chose not to fight." Without a doubt this is the best way to lose any war and the worst excuse to explain the beating afterwards.
