for a moment i thought the winner will be the next emperor. but meh.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

The reason other races can participate is that its not the winner that gets to sit on the throne, but they heir they are fighting for.
That is also the reason you need positive Amarr standing (your fighting for an heir to the Amarr throne afterall)

Meanwhile Gallente got lip-service election articles, nothing has happened in Caldari government since the fall of Heth, and I doubt it is different for the Minmatar. This is neat and all but there's a lot of lore love for Amarr to the exclusion of the rest of us.

    So blatant favouritism from CCP to anyone that has good amarr standings while leaving most of Eve unable to participate? Should anyone not-amarr/caldari aligned consider themselves second-grade players?


    A better way to handle this would be to just remove npc standings from the game, allowing everyone to participate, no?

    This is a roleplaying event. In roleplaying, one pretends they live in the universe and that their character is acting as a player in that world, not as a bunch of people playing a game they pay for.

    In this case it would be unthinkable for the Amarrian government to allow people who had bad standings with the Amarr to fight as their champions.

    It is highly unusual for the people of Amarr, fictional though they may be, to even allow foreigners to participate.

    The Empress or Emperor are furthermore only the leader of Amarr. There are a great many other leaders in the world of Eve with interesting storylines that are yet developing.

    Most of the people signing up for this will not be roleplayers anyway, which makes Akkad Akayas argument a moot point.
