Depends on how you play. The important part to note is that Jamyl Sarum's body was not found and CCP teased us about it being in.... unknown location. Sometimes a story takes a twist, live it up and make it enhance the game!

AFAIK that shield technology is nothing new, but the standard tech used with every high sec station. It just wasn't open to capsulers and their stations until recently.

One of the scope videos talks about new shielding technology is all in reference to new outposts. On mobile so link isnt handy at the moment.
