All Hail Emperor Max, first of his name

Or will she do an expected John Snow and return from the dead to strike down the usurper? Sorry Max, love you but she's much better looking.

RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!!!

This is heresy of the highest degree by the Drifter fleet! We must all rally together before they desolate New Eden as the Reapers did back in Terran space :O

RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!!!

The court Chamberlin said the capsuleer empress has died we must learn what trickery is afoot with these scoundrels for not reimaging another clone in the Empress's likeness!

RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!!!

In the event of elections for a new Empress, just remember that a vote for Yukimisama is a vote for sexiness people \o/

Copy/paste of what I wrote in the scope vic's comment section, because I'm too lazy to rewrite it...

"See, if she's smart, Empress Jamyl is still alive but have ordered that her condition not be publicized, knowing full well this will lead to the assumption that she is in fact dead. Why would that be smart? Because she and the Amarr Empire could have an opportunity to use that as a excuse to convinced the other Empires that something must be done about these Drifters, by making her a martyr of sorts. It's also a convenient way to get the Gallente and Minmatar on board without having to resorting to simply asking for their cooperative help. If it works, all of Empire space could get serious about standing up to the Drifters. It could backfire, though, having not enough push to drive High Sec into the frenzy it needs, on top of the political falllout of Empress Jamyl having to eventually come out of hiding to admit that she intentionally deceived her faithful followers.

Ballsy, even more so given the fact that it's painfully obvious that the Drifters are by no means like the pushover pirate groups, but it's at the very worst a bold move. If I'm right, Empress Jamyl is making a very interesting play that could be just good enough to win the support she and the Amarr need to ignite New Eden-wide anti-Drifter action. If I'm wrong, she could already be dead, or after the dust settles, she might have been better off dead to begin with.

+!, CCP. Well played. You have me hooked. I eagerly await the next move..."

Considering that the Court Chamberlain has quickly confirmed her death, and the apparent response from others, this may actually work if Jamyl is still secretly alive. Go Empress lady!

Yeah, I suspect that rumours of her death have been greatly exaggerated. I bet she will reappear. What will happen regarding the throne is another matter.

As long as drifters don't have standings for locators, we're covered, right? Hope they don't add her to watchlist.

Nah it was a decoy, as she stealthed off to meet with her long-time secret ally, Sansha.

Assuming she is still alive, but doing what I think she is doing, she certainly has just committed political suicide. Even if everything works out in the end, people will still feel like the Empress is not above lying to her people, even if it is for a noble cause. If she's the kind of woman I'd like to think she is, though, she's had a lot of thought about this and decided, "If I kill my career, my claim to the throne, I could save so many people. What sort of Empress would I be if I were too cowardly to take that kind of risk for the good of Amarr?"

No doubt, that would have been a tough call to make, but I could see her making it happen. That said, it all hinges on whether she even survived the attack at all. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

well I dropped her a line to hit me up, so hopefully her schedule is open enough for more than just one person.

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend," comes to mind. It's actually another good reason to play this move. Convincing the piracy groups like the Nation that Drifters won't care that they are pirates when they come to wipe us all out is a good way to get some added firepower.

It's OK. I sent her a link to The Lecture explaining why you shouldn't lose your pod in highsec or lowsec. She'll be right next time.

What a noob.

So... why haven't the Minmatar taken advantage of Amarr's weakness and preoccupation with the Drifters?

They're worried they're next?

That, and the Imperial Navy has already scrambled to secure their borders, and given that they themselves took no losses the Minmatar are not in a position to do anything about it anyway.

There was a much prettier Empress that seems to have been deleted or something.
