How to we shall make the Eos good

It made it worth training for because no one used it's links and just pretended it was a Field Command Ship. The Astarte is terribad and everyone just used the Eos which was still worse of then Field Commands in combat and Fleet Commands in Boosting.

So I do not want to see a half assed Eos and terrible Astarte I want them both made available. I want the Astarte buffed so all the Drakes and Canes **** from fear instead of laughter themselves when it warps unto the field and I want to see the Eos giving good Bonuses and soaking Dmg up as if it is nothing while still having the 650 DPS it has now. That is way better then a fat Ishtar.

Hell I would be happy if they tossed that Drone Bay right on over to the Astarte along with a 10% Dmg Bonus and 125m3 Bandwidth. With that distraction out of the way they could finally fix the tank and links so people will actually run the links instead of Neuts and Nos.

While I do agree with you this is a topic on the Eos and, while it may be valid to bring up other Command Ships to explain or compare to the Eos, this is not the place to start talking about the Nighthawk's needs.

fixing the Eos:

A) make info warfare links worthwhile
B) boost Eos' tank (by shuffling about some slots for example).

there's no need for the Eos to make more damage than it can theoredically do atm.


if you want a CS that does damage, than go fly an astarte.


and if you are unhappy with the astarte, then you better make a thread about how it sucks.

swap the 15m³ space increase for a 10m bandwidth per level, with a flat 175 space

introduce a secondary bonus across all of the CS at 2%. This step would provide a possible reason to use the Eos (it has to be the Armor link bonus), and not unbalance against the other races. Plus provides some readdress that SC out do all of the Command Ships in fleet boosting. A Jack of all Trades, should not be a fleet master.

In all honesty while I would love to see the return of the glory days of the Eos with its 7 blaster turrets and its 5 heavy drones it will never happen. While I don't think that giving it the 7 turret slots would harm anything keeping it limited to 50m3 drone space it would only have the dps of a tier 1 battlecruiser, it is not needed because the high slots are being used for other mods anyways so it would never use the extra turrets.

If all of the Fleet Command Ships were given the same treatment where they each had 7 weapon slots that would be ok, they are more tanky but much less ganky than the Field Commands so it wouldn't bother me to see them used in combat roles but it really is not needed.

The way I see the Fleet Command Ships is that there are currently two that are good at fleet combat, the Damnation and Vulture both can have massive EHP tanks fitted and can survive front line duty under heavy fire, and then there are two that are geared towards smaller gang actions with active tanking bonuses and for the Claymore very nice skirmishing links. The problem with the Eos is it has less of a role because the infowar links that would be good in recon gangs can't be brought along by the Eos as it can't make use of the alternative routes of attack that Recon gangs can utilize (Black Ops Jump Bridge). If the Eos was made into a Cloaky Recon Gang Command Ship I think it would be a very different and smaller gang role from any of the other Fleet Command Ships and would help to make infowar links much more useful.

Big Gangs
Damnation- Big Armor Fleet Commander
Vulture- Big Shield Fleet Commander

Small Gangs
Claymore- Speed Gangs Fast Hit and Run Raiding
Eos- Cloaking Recon Commander able to bring Gang Links through a Black Ops bridge

While it makes them very different from each other it gives unique roles to each of them and makes all of them useful in different ways.
