Is that what it was. I was trying to figure out the causes of that loooooong extra 20 sec it takes for the client to load up. Is it really a disadvantage playing eve from the US?

Yes, a lot of Aussies play on US based servers, mostly because we have very few dedicated games servers in Australia that aren't Counter Strike or Call of Duty.

hmmm... I don't know about that Mr. forum alt. I use to do really well even on dial-up to AUS servers, yes haha mostly playing CS. As for lately, I played a bit of GW2 at launch (since I played GW1) which has it's server in California, and there are a ton of people playing from Australia. A couple in our guild (now deceased guild of course as is the game) and really had no big issues with the server, nothing more than the rest of us had. We'd WvW a lot, they always kept up, maybe they lied and were not really from AUS? Our Pac connections are usually OK, just like I played UO on the Pac server, lots of Australians among the rest.

As for myself, I'm not complaining if that's how you are taking it, but I know a lot of people won't deal with it, especially in a pvp setting. But for some really odd reason, CCP puts a server in China breaking their 1 server thingy, while the money would seem to be in US/Pac. I just see it as a good business move, or would have been, certainly better than a server wipe, Mr. Alt.


I always suspected the real reason behind the seperate Chinese server was to isolate the gold farming.

As for Aussie internet, if people are silly enough to vote in a government that believes you can get good internet over fencing wire strung through the gum trees and that only hackers and pirates have a need for fast internet anyway they deserve what they get :D

Still kind of have to agree seeing that many NC. poster one after another looked like some kind of forum CTA. It didn't last for enough page to really be one IMO but odd none the less.
