Drop one of the reppers, and maybe consider swapping the other for a C-type, they are dirt cheap. Start hitting your core and gunnery skills until they are at or better than 4, look into getting some implants and faction heatsinks to help up the dps. By the end, you should be looking to have at least three-to-four heatsinks, and be closer to 1000-1200 dps range between IN Multi and Conflag. At the rate you're at now, Angels won't be giving you much trouble, but they will die hard.

Truth be told, you will even with solid gunnery see worse performance against Angels in a Paladin, so long term goal could be to get trained up for a secondary ship (Mach, Vargur, Golem, CNR, Rattlesnake, etc to name a few). I would say Mach on account that you can both armor tank them and the gunnery skills translate over smoothly, but the require a different kind of pilot. Vargur would still use the core gunnery skills, though needs shield tanking skills to run.

I can fly all sub-caps in eve, and I think my gunnery skills are OK too :P

The thing is, I hate having to escape to gain distance, or warp out because I can't tank enough. I just want to warp in, deal damage = profit!

Before they changed NPC AI, I warped in with a souped up geddon and had my alt in logi - that worked perfect.

I'm going to buy a Macharial tonight, and I'll bugger off to Minnie space and kill some Angels :)

If you are not going to blitz missions, maybe look at this as a 'starting' mach (330 omin tank) and as you learn the ins and outs of it you can downgrade the tank a bit. Remember to rat specific fit your tank. Also feel free to experiment with the Reactive armor hardner:

[Machariel, New Setup 1 copy 1]
Republic Fleet Gyrostabilizer
Republic Fleet Gyrostabilizer
Republic Fleet Gyrostabilizer
Damage Control II
Core C-Type Large Armor Repairer
Armor Explosive Hardener II
Armor Kinetic Hardener II

Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script
Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script
Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script
Core C-Type 500MN Microwarpdrive
Heavy Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 800

800mm Repeating Cannon II, Hail L
800mm Repeating Cannon II, Hail L
800mm Repeating Cannon II, Hail L
800mm Repeating Cannon II, Hail L
800mm Repeating Cannon II, Hail L
800mm Repeating Cannon II, Hail L
800mm Repeating Cannon II, Hail L
Drone Link Augmentor II

Large Nanobot Accelerator II
Large Anti-Thermic Pump I
Large Projectile Metastasis Adjuster II

Hobgoblin II x5
Bouncer II x4

Also a note on Ammo selection: The rof on the mach is insane, use standard or T2 ammo only, don't use faction ammo. Only use T2 ammo against angels; Hail has 54km falloff and barrage has 104km falloff and does close to the same damage as standard fusion. Standard phased plasma and emp is used against mercs/serps/bloods/sansha/drones and barrage is good against EOM (half of it is kin damage) Split your guns into a group of 4 and a group of 3 to blap frigs.

Any time. Interesting thing, as I'm becoming used to blitzing and knowing how to run the missions I'm using the cap booster less and less. Most missions I don't go into armor in the first place even. I like the safety net it gives but I might actually, if I haven't used it in a few more blitz sessions I will probably drop even the cap booster. Not sure what I'd replace it with honestly. Not sure how much a painter would help (maybe against elite cruisers?) and a web has just too limited range unless I go with an expensive faction one and even then its pretty short ranged. Maybe a Omni tracking link?

There's just enough CPU on there for an MJD, could give you a chance to be a bit more ballsy and get away with it. Personally I'd throw a SeBo w/ scan res script to kill stuff a little faster (gives you 250 scan) for blitzing missions requiring you to kill said stuff.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

Hah typical, overlooking the obvious! The sebo would actually be perfect as locking the frigs in the assault/pirate slaves/ one or two other missions are usually the biggest pain. Thanks, will definitely give this a go.
