I'm pretty sure at least half of Eve players are gay, certainly if we're to believe the level at which the term is hurled around in game chatter.

Some of those are very funny.

I hope these dudes will have their in game avatar photoshoped to their bodies someday and we will not try to laugh hard.

With all due gravitas on the issue, western studies indicate persons identifying as homosexual (with universally more occurance among males than females) at somewhere between 1-6% (probably by aggregate much closer to 1%) of any national population.

I cant speak to having read studies on prevalence of homosexuality in militaries, or in EVE, but I dont see any reason why it would be significantly higher than in any other profession or among MMO players. Even implying otherwise is counterproductive, and leads nowhere. There is no rational reason why the military would have more homosexuals, or EVE, that doesnt commensurately imply that homosexuals are somehow different in their preference for profession or MMO, just cos they are gay, rather than just being people like everyone else with their own profession/MMO preferences.

I dont think portraying/exaggerating statistics as more prevalent than they are, in population/profession/MMO serves anyones or any rational purpose.
Least of all acceptance and understanding/acceptance of this population demographic and its specific and particular concerns, as equal to anyone elses.

I have a military background, and also play EVE. By crossectioning what you have claimed, at the prevalence you have claimed, I basically should be considered as having a 1/5 probability of being gay. But Im not. I am hetero. I dont appreciate being shoehorned into that comparison, as if it matters, anymore than any gay EVE player with a military background would appreciate it either. None of this need this kind of bias directed towards us, nor does it have anything to do with why I play EVE or served in the military, nor for any gay person who also plays EVE and also served in a military.

So are any number of female dominated fields, such as nursing. And any number of male dominated fields.
Doesnt mean 50% of them are magically gay, or that the professions attract homosexuals.

Any number of men in other professions excercise, are employed, have medical coverage, are independant, shave, travel the world with other men and are macho. Has absolutely zero to do with being gay or hetero.

As to prevalence of lesbians among women in the military of nations who admit them, most of them are hetero and a substantial part of them all have birth children.


What is this fixation you have on military professionals being more gay than other professions?
Or EVE players being gay more than other people?
Makes no sense.

Some creatures can change sex while they are getting older. Dr Who cant do that to this day. I am dissapoint.
