Hehe, me too ... but with Mickey Mouse.

Later then Asteroids at a console in a butcher's shop. That was way before we got our first Home Computer, a Commodore 64.

The 3rd one was possibly Planet Patrol. ( I first thought of Falcon Patrol, but apparently that was not available on Atari2600)

Super Marion Bros./Duck Hunt combo cart on NES, if we're talking console.

For PC, it would have to be Nibbles and Gorilla (QBASIC games) on MS-DOS 5.

My first C64 game was ZORK I.
It's since gone creative commons. Here is an online version using Parchment from http://iplayif.com/ and loads it from www.ifarchive.org I'd drop it on a direct link but the forum doesn't understand the link on the first page link there.
Oh wait maybe here for a direct link that runs the game.

The first Prine of Persia back when it came out. It was a bit above my skill level at that point of time so I couldn't beat it then.

I can't remember it very well, but it was either the NES Super Mario or After Burner 2 on the Megadrive.... Unoriginal. ;p

If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all...

There were fewer games and good games worth playing and buying were even less. No wonder the titles are repeating in this thread.

Actually there were quite a many good games to play here and back then even pre PC. If this were an exhaustive thread list of good games, it would be nearly endless.

A lot of the games listed here were 1st on certain systems or arcades etc. Like my NES came with Super Mario Brothers and Duck Hunt. Atari 2600 came with Combat. Some of the first arcade games were listed here too. Then of course there were only like 2 mass marketed pong systems early on. So yeah, certain games are being repeated here, being 1st Blink

My first computer was c64 and I had no games first. We had to buy some.

Yes, the bundled ones would be the first to play. I think the producer would not give mediocre game to his console/home computer. So they would have to be rather good.

Shocked
Oh my. Talk about some flashbacks. Before I managed to scrape up enough cash to buy my C-64 I had a friend with a TRaSh 80. With only the cassette drive the only way would could play games at her place was to copy the code out of computer magazines and program them in ourselves, then hope the thing actually recorded properly.
Likewise the same process was repeated a few times with the C-64 before i could afford to buy games.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.

I remember blowing on games where they connected to the machine because sometimes they wouldn't work. Just flash jibberish and colors on the screen. It makes no sense but that trick seemed to make them work. I also remember my brother with a pair of wire cutters chopping and hacking a these little plastic structures in the SNES. So we could play Japanese games for the famicom.

The first Prince of Persia (in all its pixelated glory!)
I was so young, I couldn't even make it out of the first level (couldn't figure out how to jump).

Some wierd US-Iraq tank game for MSDOS. It played a lot like checkers... but with guns.

The first Flight Simulator (dem ploygons!)
Because it was so open ended I spent most of my time trying to crash into buildings. :D
