My fellow Capsulers.

I would like to formally announce to you that I am actively running for a position of CSM in 2016. Like many I would like to see this Eve experience grow and continue to enrich our lives with thrills, excitement, and satisfy our lust for exploration. As a representative coming from wormhole space I look forward to being a voice from that community to the Council that many feel is unheard. I have been a part of many of the areas of Eve over my time here… nullsec, lowsec, highsec, and wormholes. I have been around since release in May 2003 when it was called a mining simulator, clashed with early dev’s in the dawning of battleships, burnt out like many and vacationed from space only to return here and there like many love affairs do finding my home in the exciting world of worm holes. Like many I want my experience to grow. Grow fairly in each environment and for each environment to have a voice to growth moving forward. This compels me to throw in my hat to join in 2016 and be a part of the Council. I wish to represent not only wormholer’s, but give a voice to many that enjoy this game. To work with CCP to help enrich the game from prospective that many are convinced have no voice. In real life I am a Professional IT Consultant and a fantasy author. I have experience working with developers on a day-to-day basis yet understand the enjoyment of the escape of a good story. This is my history, my experience, and reason for putting in my hat for the 2016 Council. I believe I would give voice for many and understand the needs for many throughout the eve galaxy. Let me be your voice on the counsel and a member that gets involved to help this experience grow. Vote for me and I will work diligently to work with CCP and other Council members to grow this experience to another level.

I was asked, “What is something that could benefit newer players coming to the game?”

Some are salivating at the prospect of new noobsandwiches hitting space to prey upon for a new corpse in the corpse locker. Though I think, like many, we would prefer for a good fight out there in space. Growing player base numbers=more out there to spar with and stronger game economies. There is a need for the retention of new players. It starts with not bringing the bar to the new player, but bringing new players to the Eve online excellence bar.

The biggest complaint I have ran into regarding this is the learning curve. For a fresh player that has never seen the game they hit the ship, make a toon, and start being thrown through out space. The as they fly they experience multiple pop ups and notifications as they attempt their first flight. I understand we have a current system but I think it could be updated a bit to be a little more fresh pilot friendly. Not only would this address new player to game, but to corps, provides an information source and training source for all areas of space

My thoughts are a flight simulator in station. You’re already able to walk around as a character (which would be awesome if you could have player stations and ships with space bar/pubs/lounges… I digress and get back to the point) the game is based on advanced technology so why not use it. Tutorial systems that go through step performance in flying, mining, and game dynamics. Have it searchable and drop downed in a friendly format that newer pilots can adhere to. It could be built upon the current information provided out there and would be using much of what is already in place. Taking that current information and putting in a simple and direct delivery system. Quick simulator tutorial as it end the snap back to the listing and can read more in depth.

Simulator also allows for the ability to demo ship systems and target training for people trying to figure out what they want to train for. The looming questions for many new players are…

What style of ship should I fly?

What professions are out there?

Will it fit my play style?

What happens if I devote all this time into one and find out I don’t like it?

What is a Cap chain?

How do I…(insert the many possibilities)?

Simulator also opens the door for training benefits and educating players and pilots in all areas. Veteran corps and players could use it to train pilots. One the challenges each corp faces is taking in a corp member and getting them to mesh as a good combat pilot. Some pilots that have been here for a while might want a new avenue to train towards. The ability to jump in and try a couple logi mission to see if it is a good fit... golden.

This just my 2 isk worth and one idea I would throw on the table of possibilities I would love to discuss with both CCP and open forum of pilots.

Let’s start with personal experience and not focus on forum rants that occasionally spawn.

A friend and his son tried starting the game having played multiple MMO’s and looking for something new to play. I been playing Eve coming off a hiatus from the game and invited them through Eve’s buddy system to get in. They started and played out a week before hanging it up.

Basic issues they found with the game

- frustrating finding where to go… true the game was trying to prompt a player but the information was busy, muddled, and confusing
- they wanted to be able to join up with my experience ships to fly the ropes a bit but hard to do with lack of experience
- no system to teach them basic survival tactics
- simple communications were difficult found themselves relying on TeamSpeak chat to get information

The steep learning curve detours many as they come through the door. A common complaint and one that needs tackled and represented.

Do to some job changes i have had to with drawl from running for candidate. Real life first, hope to see you in game and we shall see as things calm down. Thank you for your support and the conversations that came of this I appreciate your time.
