Tell me what's exciting about citadels.

Being excited is terribly exciting, and a great way to sell an idea.

But I just can't get excited about citadels.

For me to get aroused, these citadels, these little pieces of Eden, would need to have some sense of proprietorship, be our own little place in space.

Part of that would involve being able to be creative with it. Making a house a home, our citadel our cottage.

That's an emotional attachment I could be attracted to, rather than the fear that some numbies will come along and wreck everything while I'm offline.

And while fear is a powerful motivator, it's not one I enjoy having in games.

I understand that for many the new citadels will be wonderful, but I'm having trouble finding any emotional link.

I'm not a fan of these forums, so I don't keep tabs on the niceties of post management here.

For issues like Citadels, which feel like a missed opportunity, then I think it's important to tell CCP what I think. As far as I know these forums are the way to do that. My apologies for being one of many people who post that way, I do try to be as unboring as possible.

Sit in an NPC station and RP as an npc.

I hear that 5z has cheap shipping from highsec

I think the new citadels are great, because right now structure bashing is one of the most boring aspects of Eve. It's worse than mining, ratting, or mission running.

With the new structure system, perhaps players will look forward to killing structures. Because they will be generating juicy kill mails, a pile of frozen corpses, and loot.

Perhaps now capitals and supercaps will be relevant again, and they will be used to generate structure kill mails.

It seems like killing the new XL Citadels will generate a kill mail that's equivalent to killing a Titan.

Entosising current structures just makes them disappear, with no killmail.

PRO: A better POS system that removes a large number of headaches and allows docking.

CON: It uses the Entosis Link bullshittery that will almost certainly get me to give up on WH space if it remains in its same sorry state by the time citadels come around.

Pretty much what she said .

I mean it would be nice .. if you-re in w-space to live from a Citadel instead of a POS , just seems more comfortable ... but on the other hand .. constantly worrying about vulnerability timers and random wizzards coming along waving they-re wand at your Castle seems rather ... meh ...

If im not wrong the first deathstar was 120 kms wide while the second one was 160 kms not as big and there is also the fact that the deathstar is a sphere while the citadels are i dont know squares or something like that but its a start Blink

Wookiepedia quotes them at 160 and 900 km respectively, and as we all know, the internet is always right.

Wookiepedia quotes them at 160 and 900 km respectively, and as we all know, the internet is always right.

Let's see, we know how wide the Death Star trench is because we know the size of an X-Wing (Mark Hamill's size and the close up of Luke and X-Wing on Dagobah) and since we know the Death Star is a sphere, we can determine the radius/diameter of the Death star based on the size of the trench (i.e. how many trenches "tall" is the Death Star,) so that means...

That's no Moon™

it's the Pepsi One of death stars.

CCP Quant: Of all those who logon in Eve, 1.5% do Incursions, 13.8% PVP and 19.2% run Missions while 22.4% mine.

40.7% Join a fleet. The idea that Eve is a PVP game is false, the social fabric is in Missions and Mining.
