Hello! My first week in eve has been going great thanks to the help of forum people and RVB. Got on some kills, got my first solo kill, and even got to kill a Raven tonight!

I have just been flying a T1 Atron so far as I don't have the skills for T2 fit. There are not many targets available yet but it has still been really fun. I was talking to someone and heard the Tristan would be good to learn Drones, the Slicer would be good to learn Kiting. Are there any other frigatesbasic fits that really highlight a technique like that?

There are a lot of iconic ships among t1/faction frigs which make you smile like idiot while flying them. Those are damn good Pirate

The more you get involved the more you got learned. RvB is a good place to start with.

Well the Incursus is made for taking the first aggresion and then to tank whilst friends commes along. You can both brawl and kite fitt a breacher whit great succes. Merlin is the frig brawl king if you ask me utilizing both shield extender and shield booster fitts. If i were you i would look at the Maulus Before entering a tristan as it has a slightly better role in small fleet warefare due to its natural role as a fast locking remote sensor dampening/Point ship, and whit its 4 drones it does well for applied dmg when something is webbed.
Also start your crosstraining to caldari/gallente straight away as them frigs share most of the basic core skills that you will train the forst couple of months!

This is a cookie cutter Slicer. Very powerful in the right hands. Getting those right hands is hard though. Using this thing is skill intensive (RL skill). One mistake, and you're likely dead. This video covers a lot of what's involved with piloting a Slicer, and other kitey turret ships.

Here is a blog I found when I started full of fits for FW:

It's very nice to look though since there are also a lot of fits designed for newbies. As your skills fill out, you'll have access to more fitting room, modules and hulls.

I've never been a part of RVB so I'm not sure how useful FW style fits (AB, Scram Web) are for that kind of context, but I'm sure your corp mates can help out with explaining that.

Grrr.
