i just dont see anyone putting forward any real solutions to sov. i cant think of any real solutions to it ether.
I think the issue is sov itself, and i dont see any vital need for it.

Sov itself is not the problem. The problem is HOW to get, take and keep sov, and the benefits and drawbacks of Sov.

CCP Quant: Of all those who logon in Eve, 1.5% do Incursions, 13.8% PVP and 19.2% run Missions while 22.4% mine.

40.7% Join a fleet. The idea that Eve is a PVP game is false, the social fabric is in Missions and Mining.

I just log on to play with the character creator. Is this sov thing part of that or is it part of the undocky side of EVE?

No, plenty of these Sov holders sit in stations and spin their ships like the rest of us!

Then instead of us thousands of players crying about how broken it is, maybe we should present CCP with viable alternatives that dont include all the boring **** we hate about sov & fozziesov? If the players cant think of a better solution, then how can we expect the developers to?

Has there been a single realistic solution presented by the community?

"War declarations are never officially considered griefing and are not a bannable offense, and it has been repeatedly stated by the developers that the possibility for non-consensual PvP is an intended feature." - CCP

There have literally been a thousand threads, posts and suggestions about how to fix sov, change sov or upgrade the sov system. I am not 100% sure but I don't think any of them was Orbit-the-Foz

"You can have sov or you can have fun" - CCP Fozzie 2015

It's impossible for everyone in the game to be having fun and that's by design.

That's why sov must stay. No fun for you.

Op success, sovholders are not having fun, statement is true

Remove Sov. Seriously. Why not?

Stations can be conquered by bashing them as usual.
Supers can be built anywhere in null.

Why do we need to form 100 man snore fleets to maintain sov?

That would make null essentially the same as NPC null, or low sec. The game already has those areas. If that's the play type you prefer, go there. There is no reason to remove null where you can claim sov to get what you want.

Sigh....

*pulls up a chair*

I think i really need to start copying and pasting this... it seems that i am one of the few 'old timers' around.

Here is why this idea is stupid... kinda

I started the game in April of 2004. I came here as a refuge from Earth and Beyond. When i started in eve, there was already sov.

Some of you might now be looking up the date of exodus and going 'wait what?' I will repeat...

There was already sov.

The south, the area around Fey and Omist was controlled by the Xetec Federation.

The Qurious and Delve area was controlled by the Stain Empire.

Catch and insmother Area was controlled by Cursed Alliance

Fountain was in the hands of.. **** i forget who.. oh! Fountain Alliance (i knew id remember)

Delken was controlled by The Imperial Republic of the North (I.R.O.N)

Geminite and up was controlled by Razor (yes they are that damn old [iirc i'm old sue me])

Above them in current Razor space was Phoenix Alliance territory.

These alliances, and a few others, controlled there areas with an iron first.

There was no alliances, shared blue list were done out of game, much like CVA does now.

there was no sov, but you can DAMN be sure if you entered any claimed space you got killed.

We, the players, created alliances and Sov. it was us. We made the original claim for space and area. We planted our flags with cans and bodies. No pos' no outpost, barely any stations, yet they thrived and ruled all.

Removing sov, fixes nothing. People will again start asking to have there names on the stars.

so seriously... this is a stupid idea because nothing will change.

there is no reason to fight over sov, none. Removing sov won;t change human nature, it will change a few things... but if you think fozziesov and jump fatigue give tears...

Learn your eve history, and be careful what you ask for.

*Note for the hell of it, i was there on the day ASCN formed. That was fun, though i was just a line member at the time.

OMG Comet Mining idea!!! Comet Mining!
