EVE Launcher on Windows 10 won't save configuration

I'm having an issue with the launcher settings on Windows 10 to where it won't save any setting changes. I'm checking the close launcher after EVE starts box and the download all resources box, however when I go to hit save nothing happens. The button acts like I'm clicking save, but the settings window remains open. I thought that maybe it could be a rights issue, so I tried running the launcher as an admin and still no luck with saving the settings.

On a possibly slightly related note, I did back up my resource cache prior to the upgrade and then restored it after I reinstalled EVE (I was upgrading from Win 7 and chose to wipe the entire hard drive since I had so much crap on there). I doubt that would make much of a difference though in this case since the launcher configuration settings are stored in a different directory.

I had this same problem and found a workaround for the resource cache.

Goto your main game folder and from there goto the cache folder. something like this... "c:\games\eve\cache"

Once you are in the cache folder open the settings.yaml file with notepad. Find the part that reads "ResDownloadAll: false" and change it to true (all lowercase). Save the file and restart your eve launcher. This should work.

The problem I had, which was as described by you, was caused by some bad security settings on the folder where eve stores it's preferences. In my case the folder located at "C:\Users\MyName\AppData\Local\CCP" wasn't allowing me to make changes to it's contents. To solve this, right click on the folder, then go to properties/security and edit the permissions to give every group/username full control over that folder that should have access to it. Hope this helps.
