I cant understand why CCP keeps providing New skins. It dont improve the game, its just useless eyecandy. I belive skins should be a free option when players build ships, not a aftermarked isksink. Can someone please explain me why CCP makes skins?

Maybe because some people want their ships to be nicely SKINned in useless eye-candy and are willing to pay for it.

If there's a demand, why not fulfill it?

Funny part is how ccp caved in and gave the elite alliance torniment winners a SKIN LICENSE that applies to all Sansha ships instead of how it was orriginally gonna be a battleship skin.

Now the skin they win will apply to the nightmare and the succubus etc etc etc.

Just one license for an entire faction of ships.

Seriously why cant the average players get this option?

Double standard?

I double posted. But i would like to add that its kind of BS to give a FACTION SKIN LICENSE as a prize to AT when us grunt scrubbies have been begging for this since release and ccp has said NOPE

We deserve Quafe skin license applicable to all gallente ships just like AT winmers get a Sansha Faction skin license.

Kinda BS guys

If there was a decent Dramiel skin I'd get it.

Edit:

Although the skin of the Dramiel is good anyway, but it would still be nice to have other options, I'd probably have as many Dramiels as there are skins.

Yes... I know, I love Dramiels, so CCP only change the skins. Plus as you've gone down the T road a T2 Dramiel might be nice.

Got the manticore skin on release, had some aur leftover for it and it was not very expensive. So you guys never played EnB, eh? Hah full ship painting and decals. Those were the days before the item shops. Oh well, only ship I think I wanted a skin for. I'd like perma pirate faction skins, most would, but guess not.

I'm in it for the money

Im saying if ccp is introducing a new Faction Skin License anywhere any how in the game to anyone that allows them to have ONE skin license applicable to ALL SHIPS from that faction like they are giving the AT winners so they can use their Licemse to skin their Nightmares, Succubuses, Phantasms and Reverents... all from ONE SKIN LICENSE THAT WORKS ON ENTIRE FACTION OF SHIPS

They need to go ahead and introce others.

I cant believe I am saying this SadShocked but for once I agree with Carrie-Anne Moss, the winners of the AT get there special ships like they have always gotten, there is no reason to restrict racial skin licenses.
Especially when they release things like the SOE ship skins, in a 3 pack, rather than just one SKIN like this.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

To op:
Because people are willing to toss money at the skins, so ccp can.

To CAM more then likly this is the firts step to eventually opening up the skins to more then one hull. I don;t have an issue with the AT winners getting a skin for all sansha ships. Doesn;t bother me and i have bought skins.

OMG Comet Mining idea!!! Comet Mining!

If they sold faction skins, then people would complain how the main ones cost more than the faction ones because there are more ships.

Because it's only impressive when you call it a "whole faction" when the reality is that this is only 4 ships we're talking about here and most of the Amarrian SKINs have more ships that they can be applied to than that.

Well the reason to restrict it is because its a unique prize, why are ships different to skins? Why are all ships not available to everyone?

Agree with you, the reason for unique prizes is to entice players into participating.

If players want unique items then they should compete.

At this stage, we are planning to also change the Rattlesnake skin. And after a little discussion, the current plan will now involve making it a Guristas Victory Edition SKIN rather than having it still restricted to just the Rattlesnake (so long as we don't hit some kind of technical snag, will know more tomorrow when everyone is back in the office)

Now there is a freaking GURISTAS FACTION SKIN LICENSE APPLICABLE TO EVERY SINGLE GURISTA SHIP
And a SANSHA FACTION SKIN LICENSE

Both of these licenses give ability to skin EVERY SINGLE SHIP FROM ITS RESPECTIVE FACTION

That means Worm Victory Edition Garmur Victory Edition and freaking Rattlesnake Victory Edition all from ONE SKIN!

Seriously I demand an equivalent Blood Raider Amarr faction wide skin and A Police Skin applicable to all Gallente Faction.

This just in: notable badpoaster doesn't know what he or she is talking about!

Garmur's a Mordu's ship, boyo.

That said, the Gurista victory skin isn't much to look at.
