I can't speak for the OP, but in my case I'd been farming the seekers for the Antikythera for a month or more, and the drifters were never an issue until they started to scram with the last patch, you'd just warp out and move on if they showed up.

The mega I lost had already claimed more than 30 elements before the first drifter reinforcements warped in, so it was going well, just the new scrambling mechanic caught me by surprise.

Looks like CCP are trying their best to make antikythera farming a non-highsec activity.
