Do any alliances still do this? Is it "safe" as in does the alliance keep their word?

Goonswarm Federation has a vast network of renters. You should contact someone in that alliance for details. They always keep their word.

The russians are great .
Largest amount of systems
good defenses
cheap rent compared to others

Their supercap button is broken, so that "defense" thing is out.

Look east. All the major russian drone alliances keep renter alliances. If you go by the rules, you won't get screwed too much and will get protection, at least from the sov threats. It can even be recommended as a stepping stone into null: you get the ropes, might get into some voluntary english pvp fleets etc.

Of course, classic eve shenanigans like blue on blue awoxing may apply, but that goes without saying. Also, at the moment there is a bit of renter drama and civil war brewing in the drones, but that probably will be settled diplomatically soon(ish).

good perimeter defenses but if someone gets on the inside don't expect them to come help. Also lots of drone poo to melt before making a buck but lots there.

Indeed, but thats 0.0 everywhere. If its a large fleet, the russians will give chase. If its little roams... afew here and afew there, thats just 0.0. We got intel channels for that both russian and english. Rarely have we had neuts even get close to us without us seeing them many jumps away... PoS up or switch ships and sit at your gates waiting.

Between the largest jumpbridge setup ive ever seen, one can travel very easily without using the gates damn near to highsec.
They run their renting system like a buisness.. no drama.

Edit: they have space besides in drone region... I love my bounties.

Yes they do but there is a catch
1> once you get accepted you contract all your gear to them to help with delivery
2> once in 0.0 you will see lots of blue ships
3> you will be asking why i am in a pod then medical clone

Goons never keep their word.
