need advice on wh living and skills

Thisb guy I'm using as a wh main I need advice on skills I should train to make the most out of the c5 I'm living out of , I'm new to wormhole living and wellwormholes in general so all advice is appreciated !

I am a little surprised you wouldn't have asked your corporation vs asking all of wspace for an opinion.

Your scanning skills are crap. Spend the next month getting them up.

Other than that.. Chars pretty much ok. What do you want to do?

Jump onto Slack and I'll run you through what you need. I'm not sure on your current alt situation but honestly character wise you're pretty much fine. The only things you need to change/improve are

1) Train some of those subsystem skills to 5. I can advise you which ones if you tell me which T3's you like flying the most.

2) Your scanning skills are terrible and you should improve them. (I love you.) This is pretty vital so you can participate in mapping and creating content. Also if you just get stuck on the wrong side of the hole and need to scan your way out. Astrometrics to 4 Pinpointing to 4 Rangefinding to 4. Does it help to have Acquisition? Yes. Is it necessary? Not really. Same with getting the other skills to V.

That being said It's understandable if you have an alt that can scan which may be why you've neglected to train it on your main. But its good practice to have at least decent scanning skills on all of your accounts since you never know who'll get podded and who'll still be in the hole.

3) Hacking/Archaeology - These skills are in no way "Required" but if you're interested in running PVE Data and Relic sites these would allow you to do so.

Salvaging - Same as above but slightly more important since you'll need salvaging skills if you plan on running solo sites and want to increase your isk/H since Sleeper salvage is worth a decent amount of isk (Nanoribbons right guys? Smile)

4) Covert Ops to 3-4 - I may be reading your skills incorrectly but it looks like you can't fly any covert ops ships. Since you have all the Frigate Skills to 5 this is a short train. Covert Ops ships (eg. Helios, Astero etc.) Are very desirable in WH space because you can warp around cloaked and they are strong scanning ships. Since you need to scan to do most things in wormhole space (Assuming your awesome corpies ((Shameless plug?)) haven't scanned and bookmarked everything already) you'll probably want to do it in safety right? Exactly, which is why a cloaked scanning ship is so strong for intelligence gathering.

Those are the main things that I see when I look at your skill set. You have DPS and PvP ships down so I'm not worried about that in the slightest but living in a wormhole requires more than just the ability to Pew Pew since you don't have Stargates etc. so you'll need to learn to survive/thrive in this new environment. Don't worry too much since we'll teach you everything you need to know and then some (and you'll probably teach us a thing or two as well :) ) Just don't be shy to ask in corpchat/ Slack Messenger.
You'll probably want to learn jump freighter and Cap Skills for when you awox us as well but our other corp members (Selusa) Would be the person you want to talk to about that.

Quick list:
Advanced Weapon Upgrades 5 (how do you function without this?!?)
Astro 5, astro supports 4 (Yes, you DO want acquisition. contrary to what Pax thinks, this one will actually save you the most time in the long run, train it to 4.)
Covops 4
T3 subs to 5 for whichever one(s) you fly. Just do this, it's mandatory.
Armour comps 5

The other more specialized areas to train into would be Logistics 5 and capital skills.
Your skills overall are much less horrible than most peoples' around your SP mark so youre on the right track.

Dont do it.

Go to null. Krab in a Gila until you can afford a Snake. Oh, hell, they're the same price, just mainline to a Snake.
Krab some more. At 20M ticks, should be able to afford a carrier inside a month. Might take you 3 to train into it, though.
Krab even more with the carrier. Krab krab krab in the krab Sanctuary until you need to moult into a super.
Then you will be King Krab.
