HI, not sure if this is the place to ask this but, I am looking to get a 40 inch 4k monitor. What resolution will eve run in maximum not windowed please and can anyone see the drawbacks of a monitor like this. A quick response is appreciated as I hope to put the order in asap.

Thankyou

I used a 42" for a while and loved it, I play on with two accounts though so I switched to two 24" monitors which was much more suitable.
for one client though you shouldnt have an issue
I can't say about resolution though , haven't bothered with anything 4k

As far as I know, EVE will run at whatever the hardware is capable of.

I seem to recall it is even possible to run in windowed mode without a frame (border). One of the CCP devs once posted a link to a utility to do that.

I use two accounts on a 42" LED tv, and alt tab between them in fixed window mode. No borders, no lag between tabs, max res.
Id imagine if your card and monitor support 4k there should be no reason it wouldnt work.

I really want an ultrawide 34" monitor, but cant bring myself to pay the retail price.

Yes it works. EVE supports for 4K resolution currently. The UI will not scale though, thus you will need to adjust your settings in the ESC menu to make the text readable.

Its in the client. Select fixed windowed mode. If you are referring to something that allows a custom size while doing so, I've been looking for something like that for over a year. Can you find the post?

Will try to find the post. I don't have my bookmarks at-hand at the moment.

I have a "feeling" it was CCP FoxFour, but I'm uncertain.

EDIT: Maybe this is what I was thinking of? CCP FoxFour helped develop it. Despite the name, I think it can be used on a single client, but the threads will yield more info; I notice that the frame is mentioned. Of course, this might be something completely different.

EVE-O preview - multi-client preview / switcher - v1.18.3

What I was thinking of was a utility that simply removed the window frame when running in windowed mode. You can resize the window as desired (even span multiple monitors), then hide the frame. Handy, as you still have access to the desktop (if you have enough screen real estate).
