Greetings IGS.
Mainly as a followup to Operation Trireme...

I would like to announce the formation of a small "asembly" of corporations, alliances, and individuals with one unique purpose.

To understand, investigate and possibly communicate with the Drifters. A secondary function is also to design attack strategies with which we can fight back, should that become necessary.

GalNet Mailing List: Drifter Research Assembly
Channel: DRA: IC
((There is also DRA: OOC for OOC comms))

Notable individuals on board are:

  • Uriel Paradisi Anteovnuecci
  • Ninavask

Corporations/alliances on board are:

  • Signal Cartel
  • New Eden Research Coalition
  • Orbital Astrogeology Inc.
  • Borkstar Laboratories
  • Project Compass Holdings

Please contact either myself or Ninavask for further details, thank you.

Viriel,

Borkstar Laboratories,

The Borkstar Initiative.

Yet another title, another group, thinning the scientific community once again.

I do not understand what are you trying to achieve here, Borkstar, there already is a community like that. It's called Arek'Jaalan.

It may be due to fatigue coming from a week almost entirely spend behind the desk, but I do not see any merit in forming another group of scientists and corporations researching the Drifter threat.

Could You please elaborate and fill me in on Your motives dr. Borkstar as I do not seem to comprehend why should we join Your cause instead of completing one of the already established and working teams (preferably those under the A'J theme)?

Pilots, let's not rain on Borkstar's parade quite so quickly. If he's able to get this project rolling, then it'll be a service to the community. Admittedly, I won't commit IKAME to a recently-conceived group until said group demonstrates itself, but you know how that is.

Pilot Borkstar, does this project have any ties to your previous DED Emergent Threat Special Task Group project, Project PARADOX?

No, that was just a cover story for another operation which was unrelated.
(Admittely, the cover actually worked.)

I am all for the spirit of cooperation between this organisation and Arek'jaalan, I will still continue to participate there as I have always done, and I hope that information can be shared freely between the two.

Why not use Arek'jaalan then?
This organisation is designed to be focused solely on the Drifters, nothing more nothing less. I also have plans for us to get a dedicated GalNet page and documentation running, which will be publicly available.
I also feel that some of the aims of the DRA would be unsuitable for Arek'jaalan, such as developing combat tactics and actively participating in fleet operations with the intent of destroying Drifters, as I know some find combat an uncomfortable experience and are only in it "for the research" which I can well understand.

Do not let any of this make you think I am not still a proud member and supporter of Arek'jaalan.
I do this with the support of several groups, and out of necessity.

Borkstar Laboratories,

The Borkstar Initiative.
