Nine years for me

I'm nearly three years in now. Game opened for me after a guy gifted me a PC.
I used to run a an angling guiding business but became complacent and sloppy with the bookings, so much so that a disappointed "customer" donated me an unused PC that had belonged to his Son so that I could manage my commitments in a programme he pre-installed for me, everything was going going honky-dory business wise and I was making a lot of money whilst enjoying some very happy repeat clients, I have to say I was living my dream.
Unfortunately though, as is often the case, something so seemingly innocent changed absolutely everything...his son played Eve and it was installed on the hd..I finds it and being of a curious nature I investigated...you can guess the rest.
My only regret is that I did not let that Guy down like a decade earlier.

6 years (old dolik char) or 5years(this char)

i installed this game with the 1week trial, as dolik, i was in space, didnt know single **** and some red cross (idk it was npc) started shooting me, i didnt know what ot do, how to warp, anything
i joined czech corporation Bohemian Veterans, but after 1 week i didnt re-sub.
Then, after some time, i tried it again, never forget, best decision ever... so now my 5year old char is here
i remember i went to 0.0 space after like 1week, my friend Akrisius from BV took me to the 0.0 space, controlled by shadow of xx, we built station there H-29TM and enjoyed 0.0 space (lol, 45% tax!) ... after 14 days i got my first thorax, but still it was **** for anoms, but man.. i was flying all around the NPC with my gang of 6 domis, all the rockets, shots, etc with maximum zoom on my ship... damn

i also remember, when my friend took me to the 0.0sec i saw all the big bubles (POSes) i didnt know single ****, but it was amazing for me... it was so damn fast, we moved from highsec to deepest xx shadow space in like 10mins....

then i remember my first death, i lost my own dominix while moving stuff, LOL
https://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=7767601 check that damn fit....

oh i liked it so much.... making 5m ISK/tick (while the others left the 25m bounty for themselfs) as salvager... good old days

edit: oh god and check the name of the system i died..................
i never resubbed dolik, i just play ddolik.. unfortunetly i cant find my char dolik(only some *** dust ppl), ccp probably changed names so new players could make their names....

Eve... Over a decade later

That is all I have to say about that

CCP Quant: Of all those who logon in Eve, 1.5% do Incursions, 13.8% PVP and 19.2% run Missions while 22.4% mine.

40.7% Join a fleet. The idea that Eve is a PVP game is false, the social fabric is in Missions and Mining.

Those skill queues are a god send. I did however feed the kids in the wee hours so the Mrs got some sleep while juggling the timing for the next skill to setup.

How on Earth did we ever survive without a Skill queue?

How did I spend money on a game I didn't have time to play before the unlimited skill queue?

5 years for me. +1 for OP

It's nice and refreshing to see some vets here who aren't incessant whiners who've jumped on the "EVE is dying" bandwagon . Big smile

Bittervets to me seem like cranky, smelly old people who spend all day standing beside a sandbox yelling angrily at the kids who are simply trying to play. Maybe they should change their adult diapers once in a while and realize they could have fun in the sandbox to. P

Well, if vets, who are still here, are whining, I guess that means they care enough.

For me though, it is a case of "Been there & done that" and I kind of got tired of all the politics and just play the game casually now. I think this character's bio reflects that nicely.

Since isk is never an issue for me because I hoarded enough in my younger days, I roam around in an orca with some cruisers / frigates in its bay, doing L4 missions when I feel like and doing probing when I feel like. If I don't feel like doing anything else, I just stand ideally in my captain's quarter.

Yes, I do use the captain's quarter. :D

2003 is when i started for a bit. 2004 i got serious up until 2010.

Came back in 2014.

Great game, i'm really liking the new 5 week update schedule, sure beats 1 update every 6ish month (and then waiting 3-4 month for the fixes).

Been around since the beginning.
