Mmmm this was the most boring episode so far , i don't think i'll tune in next year ... what a bummer.

We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.

Why not just utilize the conventional in-game mechanics for alliance/coalition co-existence?

I've read several of these Hub Zero threads and never understood this.

Cynically, it sounds like an attempt to enforce autocratic rule in a "community", without any legitimized and representative recourse on issues for its members, within that community.

Everyone is subject to your personal whim as to whether you blue them or not.

Basically, a 1man corp leader, with a vision, inviting players to "play with him", but refusing to blue them if they don't comply on a daily basis with his vision and views.

Best summary I have seen. I did enjoy those hub zero threads with their epic slide into chaos with a healthy dose of arrogance and hubris draped in the language of 'community' and entitlement. Those were entertaining.

Ok, Lets analyse this.

One of the reasons why this episode failed is because Dracs buddy wanted to run our PVP ops alone, I wanted to push for PVP being open and any hub member would have the ability to post to a community mailing list with their PVP proposal and seek help with their fleets. I don't feel I was being unreasonable here.

Nobody is subject to my personal whim as you put it, the guidelines I put in place are aimed at having fun and no one being stopped from what they are trying to do. I feel I have followed what a community is, one thing I know is that you will never agree with me. You even said yourself that you don't understand these threads and I'm not sure how much clearer I can be so that you will understand.

I'm not bitter or sad, and I've accepted things have turned out the way they have, I've wished my old allies good luck and left it at that.

Today Dracvlad and his crew killed an expensive Tengu of people I had a non-aggro pact with, they thought it was me who killed them so I had to explain to them that we are 2 different groups and don't share the same attitudes. The ones who lost the Tengu are cool guys they do missions in the area and have never aggrroed me.

Yes, there is skill involved in sneaking up on someone or fishing for them when they move system, but to be honest this isn't really my type of PVP and I'm not afraid to admit that. I like fighting folk who are prepared to fight and getting a good competition out of it by seeing which FC can pull of the best moves, lots of people seem afraid of this style of PVP.

I'm glad I'm leaving here for the next year or so, when I get back I will assist in securing the area for cool people and try my best to keep the PVP hungry folk away. Hub Zero is not over I'm just putting it on the back burner for a while, I promise you folk that I will be back and I will be prepared for an amazing sci-fi adventure where the good guys will prosper.

I will work very hard to build a corp and we will lock down the area and keep on top of threats using carefully gathered intel and and brute force. The cool people in this game deserve a null sec area where they can continue to be cool.

In terms of that Tengu kill, the people concerned left Babylon 5 and joined VORLON, a corp that had we had already tangled with, the ex-Babylon 5 players concerned set us back to neutral and left our Coalition channel. Our coalition did not attack them and tried to develop a relationship with them but they did not seem interested, then two VORLON members attacked one of our Coalition leaders corpmates on a gate in a hurricane who was doing missions, he got out as he was using an MJD. So we set them orange assuming that they were now hostile. If they had not aggressed that Hurricane that Tengu kill would not have happened, so while they may not have attacked you, they certainly attacked one of us and that action had a consequence.

For them to try it on with you shows bad faith towards you, they know we are different groups.

When the going gets tough the Gankers get their CSM rep to change mechanics in their favour.

As one of my last few post here I'd like to endorse Dracvlad's efforts in Stain.

They seem to have accepted a few different corps and are pushing forward with regard to PVP and doing very well. Yesterday saw over 3 billion isk in kills. I can't see why they wouldn't take on solo pilots or small corps with a keen interest in Stain.

Please note the problems I have had with Drac are from my point of view only and should be taken as that, If your happy with the general guidelines of his coalition you really shouldn't have any problems.

Drac, I know lots of groups who dwell in Stain are very busy in Sov at the moment and if they come back to Stain in numbers try to be prepared as best you can. You are very good at intel gathering, use everything you can to defend yourself and your people.

I'll be moving Aaron out of Stain for a couple of years to go on some travels and see the universe, I seek knowledge and inspiration on how to go about creating a security force that will one day secure a part of Stain to build an easygoing community here. I'm not really leaving Stain fully 4 of my well trained alts will still be here for PVE under the radar stuff and utilizing my complete set of T1 BPO's to build for the market.

Good luck with everything Drac, I'm still not gonna set yo punk ass blue though. Big smile

Thanks for the best wishes Aaron, we are having some success with our strategy, earlier today the Afterlife dropped three supers two carriers and a dread on us but failed to get a kill, a bit later we swooped on a Barghest, that died rather nicely... We are having a lot of fun. I was however painting the house most of the weekend so missed out on the 3bn, sob...

I hope you have fun where ever you end up, and wish you well.

That's real good for you and your guys. I still don't like the game you've played here drac but it seems to be working out for you. I see that you're happy to sideline your friend for the sweet taste of victory Big smile but hey this is Eve Online right? Majority rules and all that typical alliance elitist type stuff.

Oh by the way, some of my other best friends in uf-kkh were talking about offering you a deal, good luck with that. you seem to have lots in common with them these days.

Its a pity that you may have gone back to being bitter, I hope not, I hope that the smiley is what you really think, our success is based on applying the tactics and strategies we had in mind from the start and just having fun, we are doing different things and not getting into patterns. Stainwagon are not happy with us at all and that hot drop was funny as hell, we rubbed their failure in by that kill afterwards.

As for the 'deal' offered by the UF-KKH ex-Hub Zero mark I players I have no knowledge of any such deal, I think they be pulling your leg mate, don't let it get to you.

And just to be clear, I enjoyed my time coming down in 2010 as a noob and had a great time.

Hey, thanks very much DMC I'm glad you find this inspiring. I've tried to do this without having my own corp to back me up and it is very clear that method wont work.

I am comforted that most pioneers always have a hard time putting their idea forward for people to buy into, It takes lots of changes and attempts to be successful in anything you do. I do feel confident about building a corp and I feel the game very much needs another area similar to providence in NPC 0.0.

Thanks again mate and good luck in your endeavors.

Don't get me wrong Drac I am happy with your success, seriously, well done on those kills. What I have a problem with is the way you went about doing what you did. Giving me ultimatums and limiting me from your teamspeak was the wrong move, and you did similar things last year. I could have been a very good asset for your coalition.

I'll still talk with you but as for being involved in anything you're involved in won't ever happen again.

I could be wrong, but a cold and long winter maybe headed your way and it will be interesting to see how you deal with it. I know your play-style and if you get camped 23/7 it may be too difficult for you to deal with. What will you do if you can't undock? You've left Stain many times in the past, is this going to happen again? Make sure you have a solid plan for when the cold winter arrives.

I appreciate the good wishes, and I still count you as a friend. Yes you could have been a good asset for the coalition, its a shame that things did not work out, I know you blame me but I only tried to head off the issues that were developing.

The thing is that the change to sov has changed the dynamics, those alliances cannot sit behind a large EHP and swan around attacking other areas without a care in the world like they did before, they have to look after their own space first and if they do not they will see it reinforced, we have the capability to do it ourselves. This is part of our calculations in terms of Stain. Another aspect, many of my corpmates are old players and we just ploughed in the ISK we built up over the years into sorting out our fleet. We have some of the enemy camping relic sites and looking to go after ratters, but my corp has no need to do any of that, just PvP, so they are unable to imp[act us in any way, we just pick off some PvE every so often, but we are actually making quite a lot of ISK from some of the bling ships we have killed.

In terms of undocking the last time they tried to camp us into a station they lost their HIC. Also they are not willing to do a long term camp like that, they are not the same as the hard nuts you met in 2008/2009, and in any case it will not work, because we can move around outside of their main TZ and we are not stuck with one system / station.

It may be that they finish their campaigns in sov space and send some of their PvP'rs here, but they still have a lot of sov to defend, I cannot see them doing it like they did before to you in UF-KKH, for a week or two, but not more than that and that bothers us not at all.

The change in sov has changed Stain, its wonderful...
