Why can't we buy new character slots?

I have a second account which I refuse to resub due to PLEX rising to ~1b isk. Will CCP sell character slots in the future? We already have Multiple Character Training available, so this isn't such a drastic step.

They do, they're called alternate accounts. Having 3 per account is fine, doubly so when you refuse to pay for your other accounts on your own.

New Eden isn't nice. It isn't friendly. It isn't very hospitiable. Good thing there are people here to shoot in the face.

When you sub a second account, what you're really paying for is the ability to login two characters at the same time.

I don't want that. I just want one account, and login with one character only. But I want more than 3 alts.

Nope.

What you are really paying for is the ability two train two characters simultaneously, 3 new character slots are just a nice bonus.

See my only issue with more character slots is this. Atm CCP has decided that for your one sub you have access to 3 characters only. If you bought slots it would have to reflect the income lost to CCP that additional characters on an account would create. This would mean that the price per slot wouldnt be cheap imo. The multiple character training issue isnt a problem anymore due to the ability to pay to train more characters on one account.

So CCP would have to determine the value of a slot, but at what parameters? A month of game time? 3, 6, 12 months? As these characters could do things in game and swap out and earn passive income which has value to players. If they made the slots to cheap it would be easy to get say a dozen slots and do PI or something passive with them to gain even more in game.

On the one hand I can see uses for it, on the other the limiting factors CCP has given us are also valuable just because it limits our choices and makes our choices more valuable.

But if CCP ever did something like this I wouldnt expect it to be cheap, $50-100 or more would be more than appropriate, or the equivalent plexs.

Well they both have achievements - here they are just called "opportunities." I just cant wait till they expand the "opportunities" so I can get my tackled a titan achievement badge.

if CCP will ever add that feature in game then the price of this option is going to be tied up to the PLEX's price.
