because when 2 charons both hauling 10b jump in to the system you're in... the first one you're going to shoot is the untanked one.

don't be the guy that gets shot first.

Clearly they didn't even bother to scan the tank of the victim as they brought enough to kill a fully tanked Obelisk which has far more ehp then a fully tanked charon. Had they scanned the tank they would of saved isk by not bringing the talos(70-80m fitted) and if they really wanted to skimp some of the catas (7-8m fitted). One talos is easily the cost of 10 catas. Instead they brought enough damage to take out a fully tanked obelisk (the highest ehp freighter you can get).

In this case the one shot first is the first one they bump.

That much was blindingly obvious. You brought enough damage to destroy even a max tanked obelisk. :P

know what's worse than bringing too much dps to a freighter gank?
not ganking a freighter as it slides off in 2% hull because some one got bumped out of the way on the warp in and missed one of their shots, or some one was half asleep and didn't realise that their guns hadn't turned on even though they mashed f1 with the power of a thousand suns etc.

overkill, best kill.

also yeah, burn amarr, gank everything.
my point about tank still stands.

Yes and that's why when I gank I go for overkill. Nothing is as embarrassing as leaving your target alive with a slither of health.

Regardless your tank comment is irrelevant as they brought enough dps to easily destroy a fully tanked charon and the people doing it even said they were targeting everything. So a tank would of done absolutely nothing for him.

Except for this one time when I ran out of fuel in space which totally wasn't my fault because the game never told me I needed fuel and you don't need to refuel in EVE and they are basically the same game because space ships.

You also get to pick if you'd like to play with other people too which I never do because that would be well unfair on them.

The best part is when it starts to get scary and hard you can just press Esc and run away, funnily enough it's the same tactic I use when I'm sorting out my finances online.

Normally this would be true, but during Burn Amarr you know this to be false. You know very well that Goons and Code would make sure to keep both bumped, and kill both of them, either at the same time for the lulz, or one after the other for a different kind of lulz.

We honestly weren't counting. Everyone in fleet undocked for every single kill. No matter the fit. Burn Amarr isn't about isk efficiency, it's about mass destruction, on both ends of the guns.

Did I see a whimpering carebear turn into a GD troll overnight? Marvellous! I have always said that all that some players need is just one little gank.

On a only slightly related note and in a far too obvious attempt to spread some more controversy to keep this beautiful thread alive, let me state that I find it pretty hilarious how we all are using npc corp alts for delicate tasks such as freighter piloting or boosting and yet condemn those filthy, risk averse, subhuman carebears for hiding in npc corps.

Mate, I post on this forum with three real characters and two NPC alts. I complain about NPC alts with my main, and then shamelessly use them when I need to.

Dear CCP,

After over 2 years of play, I will be cancelling my EVE sub at the end of July.

Today, I was ganked in high sec in a freighter - the freighter some people bought a PLEX for and donated that ISK to the corp so we could buy it.

It started when roughly 3 ships started to intercept me at a gate which kept knocking me of course and in turn prevented me from warping.
I was then asked for 300 mil in ISK for a “pass” which I refused and to be frank I would actually call that a ransom.
After that someone else tried to contact me but I refused their chat invite and then 19 ships decided to take out me out.
The freighter was lost and so was our Orca which again was bought for by player donations. Over 2 billion in losses which our corp simply can’t afford to replace.

If that grief wasn’t enough one of the gankers then decided to join our open recruitment channel to then inform us (if we didn’t already know by this point) we had been ganked and then posted our kill reports to us. We were then informed that I should have indeed bought a “pass”. All this was in high sec on my way to Jita and to quite frank a little creepy.

EVE is demanding, and at times punishing, it’s part of the game but it is also very rewarding. We were hoping to set up POS’s to start moon mining and ice mining - something we’d been looking forward to for some time and building up towards it but with the loss of our only freighter and Orca it now means that our plan is on indefinite hiatus.
Just as we had started to get somewhere we’re pushed to the ground and now we just don’t feel like getting up again.

Concord just isn’t enough and did absolutely nothing. It doesn’t protect you against extortion so where were / are the in game mods? Or better yet why not have Honorary Concord Members who are players protecting players against attacks like this?

People will claim it’s part of “freedom” within the game but where’s my freedom to be able to move from one high sec system to another and not being extorted for ISK?

I enjoy EVE, I bought the Second Decade set, the LE Source book and the LE Art of New Eden books so it’s like having to leave a club you enjoy going to because there is a large group making your time there unpleasant for you so to be honest it’s sad to go but unless we start again from the start, we have no way of moving forward.

Sorry for the moan but really, extorting ISK out of players is really a step too far.

Kind regards
Finn McCoul

you should join ganking freighters until you feel better, its kind of fun, check my youtube (link below)

Someone tried to gank me once in high sec, they failed.

Then again, I take care to transport any expensive stuff in decent ships and not while autopiloting. I take care to transport [usually] in a time and place where I deem it to be the most feasible at reducing risk to my cargo [and by extension myself]. My stupid losses tend to be in direct fighting.

Adapt, survive. Those that don't are condemned in history.
