My advice when someone insults you is to check that person's rank on battleclinic.

Battleclinic gives less points for kills with greater advantage (ie. Killing a ship with your 20 buddies or killing a frigate with a proteus)

Loads of no-skill ass-clowns have lots of kills and no points. I've generally found battleclinic rankings to reflect skill. It's imperfect, but the best measure I've found.

Just keep that in mind when you get arbitrarily insulted by null-leetists who find anything that doesn't involve f1 to be sub par.
Mo

Mo speaks the truth on this.

One loophole to watch out for - The HS assclown that runs around in an assualt frigate wardeccing indy corps and shooting hulks w/ a frigate. There are several 'elite' BC tools that have 95% of their kills in HS (no crime there) AND (here comes the crime) 95% of thier victims don't have guns on their ships. T2 frig killsT2 mining barge = big points.

When you come up against an 'elite' battleclinic pilot - do a quick sanity check. If you get to page 5 and the most fearsome kill on there is a hulk or condor, then you may want to rethink the threat level on the dude in question.

+1 for MO - he can help you if you reach out to him.

So I made a topic asking for advice on how to kill them.

Well anyways now in the future I took a catalyst with polarized guns and tried to kill a gila, because you can't wardec an NPC corp. Let's just say I didn't even take 1/10 of his shields off because he had a huge buffer.

The only thing he looted was the 4 polarized guns, figures he is Russian after all.

Maybe I should just quit EVE. I go after scammers and farmers attempting to gank them and just end up giving them ISK because this happened the last time I attempted to gank a killright scammer without activating the killright. I just ended up giving him a 15 mill killright.

One last nasty trick. If there is a Sleeper Observation tower in the system, you can go bait the Seekers to follow you into a site. If it is full of red npc's, there is some decent chance that the guy in the site will not notice what you have done and inadvertantly target (or allow his drones) to attack the Seeker. You gotta be quick and get out before they strip your tank. This is particularly nasty if you can get Drifters to follow you! Again just be quick about it.

Wait... can I get a step by step to this? Just come back after a decent amount of time away sleepers are new, rat agro in missions is new, limited timer new.

I wasn't seeing how I can continue my high sec shenanigans but maybe there is hope?

P.S Can they follow through mission gates?

Yes the Seekers and Drifters can be baited and will go pretty much anywhere. Even through a gate.
I have not seen one inside a POS shield but I have seen them reinforce one. Probably didn't have the password.
Keep expecting one to GF in local sometime...

They will transfer aggro but the rules are differrent than regular NPCs. They adapt and change with every patch and update too.

Haha they have there own killboard...

So I'm guessing the process is,

1. Probe mish
2. Swap to cheap frig and agro seekers/drifters by shooting once/twice
3. Warp to mish and once in the pocket, warp off and dock in station straight away
4. Undock and warp back to mish to watch

That sound right?

Okay so I think I can make it work but it involves some skulduggery (my favourite type of duggery)...

Few points I've learnt over several blow up frigates

1. If the named battleships target you, your ship goes boom instantly (warp as soon as you fire)
2. They don't hang around once you die
3. They don't seem to kill rookie ships unless you get too close
4. The seekers that aren't named might be tankable (can someone confirm?)

I've taken on up too 8 unnamed at once. They seem very tankable.

Sounds like you need to learn the game a little more before giving up.

On this note don't give up as failure is a good teacher. Adapt using the previous suggestions and try again. Screwing up doing something new to you is quite common in PVP :)

Did you perhaps, bother to gather intel on the target's fit (A ship scanner does wonderful things), plug that information into EFT or Pyfa, and do the math on how much DPS you would need to drop the target?

Take it from me, highsec ganking rewards those who take the time and :effort: to do the homework on their targets before just loading down a single ship with overpriced weapons and shooting blindly.

I'd recommend friends. They help a lot with things like this.
