Best thing to do is either let it go though and watch how it fails and then have it repealed.

Or let it go through and burn down the white house again just like 1812

this is the 2nd attempt for this bill to try and get passed through. this bill is very dangerous. it goes beyond just just censorship. it gives any business the right to have another business censored off of american isps. not just pirated material. big business, who is really lobbing to get this bill pushed through, can have anyone removed off search engines like google. if they see a rival up and comming with a product even remotely similar to theres, they can have there rival shut down completely. a lot of people think its just about censoring free speech. it is, but its main goal really is to shut out smaller businesses. piracy will exist with or without this bill, anyone who knows anything about piracy can tell you that. it will do nothing whatsoever to stop it.

if this bill passes, kiss the "old" internet goodbye for americans. say hello to china and iran. rather then keeping your people surpressed for political reasons, they will be for more capital.

And thats strange how ?

They regularly bombard their own unit with their glorious inch to inch perfect navigated land-land / or air-land / or sea-land missiles.
Frankly they kill more of their own soldier then their enemies does.

Anyway its off topic ..

OP. We are going down and fast. I guess two decades at most before something radical enough happen. Welcome to 12th century.

This century sucks as much as the ones that preceded it but at least we have science and the internet

If the Internet is outlawed I for one will be buying rollerblades, learning to hack and starting an underground arcade.

Oh wait, your country just fails at net neutrality.

Idiot! It's *your* government that's trying to censor your access to the internet. Think about it:

The Americans pass an onerous copyright "protection" bill. Your country calls it censorship, infringement of free trade, and a trampling of freedoms. Your country then starts running its own DNS root servers and fragments the internet. Eventually, every country declares its own root servers, firewalls, etc., until all your internet traffic goes through your government's servers.

*presto* Every government now has the ability to throttle, censor and eavesdrop on its citizens' emails, chats, VOIP calls, cell phones, and can otherwise track everything you purchase or download via the internet.

Welcome to 1984 Mr. "We have Net Neutrality and the Internet as a Right!"

*******.

edit: Tinfoil. Buy now while it's still legal!

I'm a Chinese obtaining a passport issued by People's Republic of China. I speak perfect English and play EVE.

And my country has theoretically created the biggest censorship and mantained the biggest tyranny in human history.

Just as an FYI: The National Defense Authorization Act, which declares the entire United States a "battlefield", allows the US Military to detain indefinitely without trial or evidence anyone, to include United States citizens. Goodbye, due process and everything the Constitution stands for.

Additionally, as an active battlefield, the US Military has the legal authority to shoot and kill any "suspected terrorists". It also goes on to say that the following people qualify as "suspected terrorists": people with missing fingers, anyone with multiple guns in their home, anyone with more than seven-days worth of food in their home, anyone who owns weatherproof ammunition.

Yeah, being able to play video games is in jeopardy, as well as torrenting music, videos or just about anything else you can do on the internet. But, a 93-7 vote in the United States Senate just pushed America a little bit closer to becoming a very difficult place to call "the land of freedom."

Interesting to note, is the fact that the NDAA uses the phrase "to protect the homeland". In the late 1930s and early 1940s, there was a European country that also used the phrase "to protect the homeland". Now, I'm not trying to equate current America to that particular time in a nation's history. However, Benjamin Franklin once said "those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

If you're in the United States, I urge you to contact your Congressperson and your Senator and tell them to stop sacrificing our freedoms.

Protect IP and the Nation Defense Authorization Act both scare the living **** out of me considering that they are both coming at once. If these pass, where will big business and the government stop? People can only have so much taken away quietly before they do something about it.

A storm is coming.

... That sounds like a conservative, the people who are getting ready for the government to fall apart and the zombie apocalysp has the has nots take what they have. Oddly the people who'd be the only ones standing up against such measures too.
