Client freezes during combat

So I've been experiencing a few problems since the introduction of the download on demand client.

Occasionally my game clients will freeze during combat, at no other time does this occur and it only happens once per session. It's not even intense combat. Yesterday I engaged one ship on a gate, my client immediately froze and when it caught up I came back to a kill mail and my phantasm 200km off a gate.

Everything else on my PC works during this time, I can still chat on teamspeak and tab between other programs.

I recently reinstalled the client and the issue stopped for a week or so.

My rig is newish and I have no issue with anything else.

Specs:

CPU: i7 3770k
GPU: Sapphire Radeon R9 295x2
HD: Kingston HyperX 3k SSD
Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro

Pw. It's worth noting that I have told the client to pre-download all assets.
