Missing Lots of Sounds

Eve has sound?

With that out of the way...

Things I can hear: scanning noises, salvagers, tractor beams, interface clicks, in game music

Things I cannot hear: wormhole flares, warp noises, weapon noises, explosions, gate noises, ship propulsion noises, ship repair noises, pretty much all other in game sounds

I submitted a bug report a week ago and have still not received a reply. I have cleared my cache, reset my settings, and run the repair tool: still no sound.

What gives?

Okay, so.....

You get sound from the UI, but not from your ship or its surroundings? I'd suggest checking your drivers, making sure the volume on your computer (not the game or the speakers, but your actual desktop volume) isn't being funky, and that your audio device isn't dying.

Also, despite having already reloaded your settings, double-check that the game's volume is properly set -- I've had issues in the past with the World Audio automatically resetting to zero, and for some reason, the game thinks it's set 'normally' and won't see it on a settings reset.

I can't get rid of my darn signature!  Oh, wait....

I get sounds from the UI and from salvagers and tractor beams.

I fired up the test server last night and discovered that sounds are working just fine on it. So either they have a patch that's going to fix the issue, or my client is SNAFU.

I had my client's "world sound" set to zero by default but I'm sure you have checked that Blink

I was getting this same issue with game sounds problem.

So I found this thread, tried updating drivers on my headset. They were good.

I am assuming you are using a headset and have problems with the sounds?

I uninstalled my headset reinstalled and all is working fine again.
