Eve Launcher v2.2.878305 completely broken?

Is this a bad build of launcher or something - it won't patch?

I keep getting to a point where it shows "Downloading update 0 B / 3.17 MB 8.9%) and it will not progress from there.

Until a point about 20 minutes later, when the whole computer (Win 7 x64) freezes, and the launcher crashes out offering to report the problem to Microsoft.

In the launcher logfile, I'm seeing an awful lot of these sorts of lines.

My launcher is only launching in offline mode. I couldn't log on last night because of it and I didn't want to take 2 hours trying to diagnose it and find a work around. I had just finished working on another issue with my windows update and I was tapped out lol
