Make ship bonus non race specific

For example:

Diemost:

Gallente Cruiser Skill Bonus: 5% bonus to Medium Hybrid Turret damage per level
Heavy Assault Ship Skill Bonus: 10% bonus to Medium Hybrid Turret falloff and 5% bonus to Medium Hybrid Turret damage per level

into

Gallente Cruiser Skill Bonus: 5% bonus to Medium Turret damage per level
Heavy Assault Ship Skill Bonus: 10% bonus to Medium Turret falloff and 5% bonus to Medium Turret damage per level

And it shall thus be fit to win.Lol

no.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

I am opposed to this idea. Here's why. Each race has a specific niche. Amarr like shiney lights and their ships are designed to more appropriately utilize the laser turrets. If you try to fit a turret in their ship which it is not designed for, you loose performance. You wouldn't get a very good result if you attemped to fill a gas engine with diesel and tried to start it... same with the turrets

No. no more generic garbage. The way to fix Deimos is more PG.

if this happened what would be the point of having races at all....

That's a Templar, an Amarr fighter used by carriers.

Winmatar's niche is to win, Diemost's niche is to die.Big smile

Diemost - 2k m/s, 26km, 0% dps at point range
Vega - 3k m/s, 50km, 85% dps at point range

So that Winmatar can win? Once everyone's Winmatar, what's the point of having races at all?Cool

Then stop fitting the Deimos the wrong way.

It's already with 2 TEs, 2 nanos, and using neutrons with null, at max skills. What's the right way to fit a Diemost? With rails?P

Ah, so you were lying then (that setup does ~60% DPS at point range, and starts out at much higher DPS so it will quite handily outdamage the Vaga).
Ok.

No, ships need to be race-specific for this game to be really interesting. Its all about choices.

So, 7km optimal and 19km falloff with null in neutrons and 2 TEs put Diemost at ~60% dps at 24/29km point/oh range? 30/36km if faction (yes, it's worth the price). Check your math. And "starts out at much higher DPS?" What are you playing? Undocking game? How did you manage to get on the Diemost side of Diemost vs Vega? Most people would have squirmed out of the topic, or any gallante vs winmatar scenario.Roll

No choice atm. If you want to win, you have to fly winmatar. Allow more weapon choices for non-winmatar boats would make gallante/caldari viable.Cool
