I was using my Legion w/ mobile depot to run combat sites in the backwater regions of nullsec space (well aware of the risks, still safer than WH) when this guy comes into local with a Tengu attempting to combat scan me. I warp around, shrug off my combat timer, and then log out.

I go to sleep for eight hours. I wake up, grab some coffee, and then log back in. What do I see? He's still in system and there are two warp bubbles right on top of me. I attempt to move to the out edge and align with another planet, when he uncloaks.

HE WAITED. For eight hours this guy either took shifts with friends or actually parked his toon in that spot, and was ever-vigilant for eight hours.

Fortunately I escaped. He attempted to energy neut me and in the process drained his cap and offlined his disruptor for a few seconds. I waited out the 15-minute combat timer, all the while watching his probes follow me everywhere in the system. I've logged off, and have no idea what to do next.

I could try to enlist help, perhaps mercenaries. I could also wait him out, but I'm not quite sure that would work. He has to sleep at some point, but his friends don't. Logging in again is risky. Any advice would be appreciated.

*Edit*

Happy ending. He wasn't there when I logged back in, roughly 16 hours later. Either he got bored or paranoid. In any event it appears as though I'm going to be able to get home.

I have been 24/7 camped into a station by no-life nullbeards. In a hawk, no less. It is quite absurd; but clearly you are going to have to try and wait them it. Use out of game intel tools or log in on an alt to monitor activity in the area, do some research and figure out what time zone the locals are most active. Maybe use an alt or pay a third party to try and find a wormhole out, or as you said try and get someone to come help.

But yes, my experience with null has been that there are people who do not sleep or have lives and they will take shifts running 24/7 camps for days on end. It is disturbing, but so it goes. You can either try to wait them out, find a way to deal with them, or just take the loss.

If they are Russians, you should probably just log in and self destruct.

(The guys that camped me did so for several days, I logged in multiple times at wildly varying times of day only to find myself immediately followed out of station by an interdictor and multiple ceptors. They did this to kill an assault frigate.)

If it's just the one guy in the Tengu, use things like zkillboard to research his character, figure out his time zone and whether he's affiliated with a local entity or just a drifter like yourself. It may have just been bad luck that you logged back in when he was online, perhaps on an alt; he's almost certainly got you watchlisted now. Figuring out if he's alone or part of a local gang is step one.

Think of it this way, if Darth Vader had stayed at Tatoonie instead of returning to the Death Star, R2D2 would never have made it off-planet and the Empire would have won.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

Log in just as dow time ends.

With some lucj you will be able to run away.

That being said - T3 is a sweet KM

And yes - some people will camp you for a week if need be just to kill you.

You're not even logged in and you're wasting hours, if not days of time of some morons. You've already won.

Go get a tea and read a book.

This. Hopefully you have at least one other character you can do stuff on, thus satisfying your EVE habit while some ****** wastes days sitting in a null backwater waiting for you to log in.

For some reason, I have a feeling that this is hurting me more than it's hurting him, given that it's likely that someone willing to do this has multiple alts that he can play with while he waits for me. He's probably also using a splitscreen application that allows him to play without switching windows constantly.

I don't understand. How did he get bubbles at your login position? Or was he just still in system and you landed in one of his bubbles?

I think he managed to scan me down and was warping to my position as I finished the log-off timer.

If you have an alt that can cloak, then take it to the system and cloaky camp until the system is clear, then login and continue on your way.

It's not necessarily the case that he was no lifing your warp in for 8 hours. It's possible that he bubbled your logoff position and was in system when you logged back in. Warped to the spot cloaked, spotted you and uncloaked for the kill.

Yes, pretty sure this is what happened. In which case you were lucky not to die just before logging off. He was probably already on the way when you disconnected.

If he ran out of cap as you say, that means his hardeners would offline too. Why not turn around and stomp on his ass? You may not kill him without a scram but he would run away leaving you alone. Bait him and fight. If you're running combat sites I'm guessing your tanked and can do dps. Slap him a bit. Be more fun than what you're currently doing.

You'll have to speak up, I'm wearing a towel.

Sorry for your troubles.

Some people really like to stroke their killboards..

Nothing better to bump your board than a explo Legion that you know isnt equipped with friends/corp to help. Camp it 24/7 then link the kill to everyone to assert your "skillz".
