Greetings, New Eden.

Context: yesterday, a fleet composed of 61 Brave Collective pilots and four outsider pilots (including myself) once again dove into the now not-so-unidentified wormholes to reach and breach the enigmatic Vidette complex.

The fleet, due to the sheer number of pilots, information provided on the sites' layout from my and other analysts' research, and Fleet Commander Altrue's phenomenal leadership, was able to steamroll through the complex and quickly reach the Hive room. Using previously acquired data, we were able to successfully retrieve the Vidette Element from the depths of the fortification. A number of researchers, including myself, are now attempting to learn all we can from this mysterious component.

As for the Element:

The Vidette Element itself constantly emits a strange... distortion. That's the only word I can think of to describe it. Attempts at conventional analysis have proven woefully unsuccessful. The signals emitted by the element interferes with electronics and any sort of system that could be used to possibly determine what, exactly, its purpose is.

Being in its presence in person for any extended period of time strongly affects concentration and cognitive clarity, and a ringing in the ears, along with an intense headache, manifests progressively. The most curious aspect, however, is the sense of presence and intrusion it gives; it's as if something is grabbing at your very psyche, pressing into your head.

The only decipherable and recognizable thing we have observed so far is the repetitive concept "Vidette" breaking through the distortive maelstrom.

Further insight is already being attempted; however, all efforts have proven futile as of yet.

Be wary, and remain vigilant, pilots.

It was a very enjoyable venture.
I, rather foolishly, connected the Vidette Element to my ship's Adaptive Synchronisation Suite, which promptly melted.
It also blew my ship's primary datacores, and half of the electronics on board fused and stopped working.

The interference is pretty big - But I managed to have my ship reconstructed overnight, so everything's fine.

No progress on decrypting, deciphering, or even figuring out how to stop the exponential circuit overloads when it's connected to our Empire hardware. Even the Adaptive Synchronisation Suite (which I tore out of an Echelon) designed to take non-standard hardware couldn't handle it.

I hope we can find a way of deciphering this stuff soon...

Uriel. I am excited by your discovery. Next time you form a fleet to explore one of these spaces i would love it if i could be extended an invitation. If you remember you briefly aided me in my behavioral research on circadian seekers And iw ould love the oppertunity to study the seekers and drifters in their "home"
