"Generous" ISK-scammers

Cannot help but notice that the hi-sec ISK-doubling scammers all proclaim their desire to help the impecunious newbie.

Then their minimum buy-in (for 2x ISK) is 50 Million; and to get 5x your "investment", you need about 5 Billion

How many noobs are there, walking round with 5B ISK pocket-money ?

I'm sure there are more than a handful that went for the buy six plex deal thinking that they could totally use that to buy their epic mission ship and trick it out with the 'i win' bling.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.

Scammers claim a lot. Because they're scammers. If you expect honesty from them, I guess you'll be a future victim, too.

What's the point in scamming for 1 million ISK?

Scammers don't even get out of bed in the morning for that much.

They aren't interested in the wallet balance of their marks. They are only interested in their own balance, so why scam for peanuts? Also, why do all the work to pretend to scam for small amounts, when you only need the occasional large pay to make ISK faster?

How much did you lose?

Yeah... I don't belong to the CODE fanbase, but I've seen some purple stuff killmails on their website that simply beggar belief.

Also; if just 1 guy falls for it, you're in. Like those Nigerian Princes looking to offload a massive heritage you've earned and require "banking fees" to tranfer to your account.... 1 dude is all they need.

One difference, I think doing bonus rooms makes you a lowlife. I never get anyone involved IRL (including getting them on comms)

That got me thinking about how EVE was pre-PLEX.

If you had offered to give away a million ISK in a forum post and required some effort for it, like writing a few paragraphs about why you deserve it, you'd have 10 pages in an hour.

Now people just buy ISK. Nothing means anything in a game when you can buy with cash whatever you need. New ships, new characters and just about anything else. It's like losing a Queen in chess and legally buying a new one from the people hosting the event. A lot of the fun has gone out of this game because of it.

I just don't understand how any rational adult could possibly fall for these scams. Some of them don't even put any work into them, like the Orca ship plus fitting one. Everything plus the kitchen sink, a pay in, and an orca blueprint. I just don't get it.

Just because i am blond does not make me stoopid !
