I have done literally everything I was told/read to do up to and including uninstalling and reinstalling, nothing works, even the work arounds have failed to resolve the issues I'm having. Guess the only thing is left is uninstall and just let my account expire.....

Use the exefile.exe in the bin folder of your eve directory to play the game. The launcher is a horribly bugged piece of ****. If you can't get it to update, download the offline installer and install the game that way.
