IMO the whole change developed around the saying "EvE is hard". We had a serious community where you could be new and do things like accidentally wander into lowsec(no warning notifications because EvE is hard) and have people ask you if you're lost or looking for a fight. There were always people looking to be notorious but the average player felt more attached to their actions. EvE is hard initially meant EvE is hard because there is so much to figure out, but it became transformed into EvE is for your inner sociopath....it was used to market the game and now the sociopath market is what EvE is built around. Plus nullsec has been so profitable and safe for so long that there's nothing to do with all dem credits and sec status increases but go pick on the poor/new folks.

Yeah, I'm a bittervet....I pay for miner's losses when I blow them up.

Recruitment Officer: What type of a pilot are you? Me: I've been described as a Ray Charles with Parkinsons and a drinking problem.
