Refusing/Cancelling Distribution missions

Hi all,

Just looking for a little clarity on the above.

My understanding was that if you refuse (and worse; cancel) missions within a 4hr window you lose Faction AND Corp standing.

However, I have just got completely fed up with my last two distribution missions on my alt and canceled them as they were miles apart and I was moving to a new area.

To my delight (but hopefully not premature) I received no FACTION drop.

Is this right?

If so, then that is great news as the Distribution missions I'm running are for agents from all over the place and as long as I receive no FACTION hit then I can pick and choose my missions......

Yay/Nay?

Regards

It's right, unfortunately.
You won't get Faction standings from regular missions.

Storyline missions and Epic Arcs give Faction standings

Hi,

I think you might have mis-read something in my post.

I understand that I do not get Faction standing from completing corp missions, what my question was..... do i LOSE faction standing by refusing/failing corp missions?

The reason I ask is that on two of my characters where I am griding standings I have no affiliation with the corps where missions are issued. Thus if I do not like a destination I can refuse without any impact to my Faction standing.

The other seemingly positive of this is that they appear to be using my Faction standing to gain the missions, thus if it can not go down from refusing/failing missions then they can never refuse me a mission.

Is that correct?

Yes, you will. You'll lose faction, corp and agent standings.

An agent will offer you missions based on the higher of corp and faction missions. Hence if you have 5.0 standing with a faction, you can accept level 4 missions from any agent of any corp in that faction.
If your faction standing drops below -2, only L1 agents will offer you missions, no matter how high your standing is with the agent's corp.

Edit 2:
Just tested with Distribution missions. Requested an L1 distribution, declined, requested a second and declined. Result:

After looking at the image I went deeper into the gain/loss window and can see that there are losses. at my current standing of 3.51 they were only 0.0105 losses, but losses none-the-less.

May still be a call for decline missions that are 'way' out there.

the faction drop from declines is so small I just ignore it. for a decline there is generally no visible movement, but a small loss in the transactions. heck I ignore most of my storyline missions, and my faction stays between 8.00 and 8.2 or something. I had 5 storylines in my journal that I completely let lapse because I forgot about them and went on vacation. I usually just jump in a warp speed rigged ceptor and do the mats for war, and the courier that pays 15m.

Yeah you lose some standings, but it's extremely small. Usually running the storyline missions makes up for an average number of declined missions. The thing you need to watch out for is that your agent and corp dont get below -2 as they both drop much much faster than faction standing. If either of them drop below -2, you will only be able to do lvl 1 missions.

(Just thought about it, but if your agent standing drops below -2, is there any way to get them back up, or are you not able to use them again? Assuming they aren't lvl 1 of course)

have someone else (or an alt) run a mission in fleet and share standings rewards.

I thought that it didnt matter how far they dropped as your Faction standing was high enough to get the missions. Most of my missions are offered due to my Faction standing.

Your corp standings still need to stay above -2.00. Or at least that was the case before.

Yeah unfortunately your corp and agent standings still need to remain high enough. If any of the three are -2 or below, you can't take missions from them What?
